Bohemian Utah Wedding
Around here, we’re pretty big fans of photographer Alixann Loosle and her beautiful images — and this wedding sent over from Lindon, Utah is surely no exception. Newlyweds Tregan and Landon make one of the prettiest couples we’ve seen this year, and their reception is a botanical dream with its hanging single flowers, wooden tables, and arches. Keep an eye out at the end for a special equestrian guest!
From the bride, Tregan: I am a dreamer with a huge imagination. For years I have thought up of what my future might hold for me, knowing that by the time I turned 22 I would love to be married. My wish was my command and after 3.5 years of dating this special man, in January of this year I was engaged to be wed to the man of my dreams.
Let’s start off with what the first step of the wedding process is, the ring. I knew from the get go that I wanted something different, something that could be passed down from generation to generation. We started out the traditional way and went around to different ring shops but we both agreed that nothing caught our eye. The next chance we got we headed to Custom Ring Design where they were able to make all of my wild ring dreams come true. Seriously though, they exceeded all of my expectations. On January 22, Landon and I got engaged and that’s when the 6 month count down began.
Years ago my sister and I had been watching an HGTV show about extravagant floral design. This man decorated the whole event with hanging flowers and honestly, from that point on I knew I’d have hanging flowers at my wedding. I hired an incredible florist who totally captured my every thought. She knew exactly what I was talking about when I said ‘hanging’ flowers, she was the perfect fit for me. Thankfully I have such an amazing family so creating these ‘C-stands’ to go over the guest tables was no hassle at all. We are a handy family, even us girls, so not only was the hanging flower idea an original one, it was also a hidden symbol of what I love to do and that is to create.
One last thing that I feel was some what different than the normal wedding was our wedding favor gifts. I once was a nanny for a lady who had such an incredible eye for little detail. She always came up with idea’s that I nor anyone else had ever thought of before. Anyway, she held a book club event at her house and had the cute little pine tree’s as take home gifts. Not only did I love the idea of having them be my wedding favor gifts but I had also never seen it done before so naturally, it just seemed like a great idea. I also joke that we gave little tree’s to replace the tree’s that had gotten burned down by the many forest fires that we had here in utah, it just seemed too appropriate!
As far as other details to my wedding, my sisters who had the 2 matching brides maid dresses got their dresses from an online shop that was based out of China. It was a random website that we found through pinterest. Once we got them, we were pleasantly surprised at how much cuter they were in person. We had my amazing cousin add the lace fabric and do some alterations. My dress… ooohh how I absolutely LOVE my dress. It gets me a little teary eyed just talking about my dress because I only got to wear it once. I love the thing so much that I honestly wish I could wear it on a daily basis, or even have it in a life size shadow box.. something! Avenia Bridal’s, Nancy Barrus made my wedding dress from scratch. Like everything else, I had a vision and she grasped it completely. I cannot express how amazing she is at what she does. My dress was the most beautiful that I had ever seen and it was all because of this fabulous lady.
Overall our wedding day was the most perfect day of our lives. Everything was more than amazing and we couldn’t have done it with out all of the incredible help that we had. We wish we could replay that day over and over again! It will definitely be a day that we will always treasure and we are now living our happily ever after.
