Bohemian Summer Wedding Ideas
We’ll always love a breezy bohemian couple, and these two in this styled shoot from Cassandra Castaneda Photography and Rak Designs is no exception. There are a great many details to fall in love with, but my personal favorite has got to be the daybed hanging from the tree. How great would that be as lounge area for your guests?
From Kristin of Rak Designs: Nestled in the great Midwest; thirty minutes outside of Kansas City set the destination for this wonderfully crafted affair. Forty+ acres of natural surroundings brimming with fields of overgrown grasses, succulent willow trees, and balmy spring breezes made for the perfect setting.
The color palette included soft forms of yellow, ivory, blue, coral & grey. These colors can be seen in the floral arrangements and the Bride’s floral crown, fashioned from beautiful seasonal blooms including peonies, ranunculus, Muscari and sweet peas. The bride’s long-stem bouquet offered a ‘just picked’ feel adorned with trailing ribbon. The Bride and Groom both wore vintage attire, including a 1970s flowing floral gown embellished with touches of turquoise as well as a 1970s taupe three-piece suit.
A welcoming hanging daybed constructed and hung on a nearby shade tree gave way to a relaxed atmosphere for party-guests to enjoy. A backdrop of large mounds of reclaimed logs offered structure, whereas vintage bamboo egg chairs lent a hand to a softer form. Woodland inspired spheres draped in green ivy were crafted and hung at varying heights above the head-table. The table settings were complimented by an individual place card set delicately on a twig nest.
A menu board, hand painted on rough-cut reclaimed oak, sat to the left of the head-table giving guests a teaser of the succulent meal awaiting them. Atop the table sat a lovely vanilla rosette cake and mini wedding cake sugar cookies. Prior to sunset, a vintage row-boat presented the perfect means of escape for the newlyweds. One of the many custom reclaimed wood signs seen throughout the event hung from the back of the row-boat and read “swept away”.
