Black and White Wedding Inspiration in Old German Monastery
This sophisticated glam black and white wedding is all about the yin and yang. Surrounded by gorgeous mountains, this old monastery is an incredibly romantic setting for your destination wedding in Germany. This wedding inspiration shoot brings together the old Gothic architecture with the contemporary color palette of black, white and gold. Magnolias on Silk created the stunning and timeless look and breathed new life into the monastery. We just know that you’ll be dying to have your destination wedding here after seeing these gorgeous photos by Anja Schneemann Photography.
From Irka Fuerle of Magnolias on Silk: The motivation and idea of this styled shoot was this gorgeous old monastery. It is located in Goslar, a town in Germany. Goslar belongs to a region in Germany that is called Harz. Glorious mountains and deep forests mix with beautiful medieval timber-framed houses. This very traditional and romantic atmosphere full of rich historic buildings is just perfect for a wedding.
The wedding venue, Klosterhotel Wöltingerode was built in the Middle Ages, therefore it has this distinctive Gothic style. Huge arcs and high ceilings with ornaments make a great impression. We wanted to create a style concept that would connect both the old and the modern. The venue itself is also very light-flooded and bright. A pretty garden is also great for a symbolic wedding. The church is a true gem. You can see the altar through the huge window of the hall, where the reception can be held. Klosterhotel Wöltingerode is just a brilliant venue for destination weddings. It has several accommodation facilities and even a brewery.
To create this connection between a historic building and the modern times, we went with a simple and elegant color palette. Black, white, cream and gold are timeless and versatile. Also, the black and white make this harsh contrast that appears very modern and stylish. It was essential for us, to play with the details and structures of the Gothic style. Hence, we decided to go with these unique black and white plates with geometric patterns. A black velvet table cloth is the eyecatcher of this table decoration. We’ve had it produced just for this black and white wedding. The see-through chairs, the golden cutlery with black handles and the glassware are also very linear and modern.
For the bride, this simple and elegant dress with a bow in the front is perfect to fit in a setting like this. The motif of the bow can be found in the bridal shoes and the presents. A very small and delicate detail is her ring. It has this gorgeous black diamond, surrounded by a stunning halo of white crystals. The ring itself is in this pretty golden color. For the floristry, we went with a monochrome bouquet made of white anthurium, orchids, tulips, and ranunculus.
We love the sophisticated look of crisp white so we know you’ll fall head over heels for this indoor wedding with bright whites and navy.
