Patrick and Mairead first met in high school, making prom their memorable first date. After that summer together, they each set off to college in different cities. The couple had decided to date long distance, visiting over long weekends and spending time together at football games and college formals. At one point, their relationship took a pause, but they agreed to meet for dinner after Mairead moved back to Houston. It was then that they knew their relationship was growing the foundation for their lives together. Patrick proposed to Mairead the day after his graduation. Family and friends were in town, and not only celebrated the graduation but also the couple’s engagement!
Patrick and Mairead’s Texas wedding embodied the color and essence of a refreshing garden wedding, as citrus-themed details spritzed their day with color.
This spring wedding at Windermere Farms provided a rustic setting, complete with unique stone architecture and airy views of the hillsides. Guests gathered for the ceremony on the elegant stone patio that overlooked deep green pastures and fields of oak trees in the distance.
An archway made of warm and colorful florals stood at the center, with a small wooden cross affixed to the top, made by Mairead’s uncle. Colors focused on corals, peaches, and citrus oranges, with bridesmaids in an array of vibrant shades.
A delightful citrus-inspired seating chart welcomed everyone to the reception, where tables were set with airy blue linens and glassware. Tiny kumquats snuck their way into the arrangements with ample roses, stock, ranunculus, and greenery. A white and blue dance floor kept the mood elevated beneath the sailcloth tent. In the glow of the evening, the couple made their way beneath an oak tree wrapped in twinkle lights for one last dance in the open night air.
