Intimate Tree Farm Wedding with Fanciful Greenery
If Alanna and Jason’s tree farm wedding had a middle name, it would definitely be greenery. Amidst their intimate rustic wood setting were drippy wax candles, romantic spruce wreaths, modern wire lanterns and floating glass bulbs – an idyllic soiree indeed. We’re pretty sure that, as a couple, they’re flawless. And if their day is any indication of the warmth, joy and love they share together, we’d be willing to bet they’re living happily ever after.
Pennsylvania wedding photographers, Ali & Paul Co., captured A + J’s garden shed reception in a way that has our hearts singing. And as to be expected, we got pretty emotional when we saw that first look as she processed down the aisle.
These seasonal florals from Be Lovely are giving us all the warm fuzzies!
From the bride: Jason and I met three years ago when I was working as a real estate agent and he was looking to buy a new home. Not long after we started dating, we enjoyed brunch at Terrain, a charming restaurant and garden store just outside of Philadelphia. I remember thinking it would be a beautiful place for a wedding. Fast forward two years, and we were planning our Christmastime ceremony and reception there!
Jason proposed on a crisp October morning while on a hike with our three dogs. Little did I know, he had spent the previous three months designing my engagement ring using my late grandmother’s gold and gemstones. Not only is my engagement ring a beautiful reminder of my husband’s creativity and thoughtfulness, but I also love having a memory of my beloved “Moo-Moo” with me wherever I go.
Aesthetically, we loved the idea of an “enchanted forest” winter wedding. Lauren, the owner of Be Lovely, made our dreams come to life with lush greenery and rustic florals, twinkling lights, and dozens of candles. Ali & Paul Co. captured the entire day beautifully, and we couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out!
Jason and I wanted our wedding day to feel cozy, vintage, and family-oriented. Jason and I are both so lucky to have wonderfully supportive families, and we loved the opportunities to include them in our special day. My Uncle Gary thoughtfully designed and officiated our ceremony, and Jason’s sister and my cousin both shared readings. Instead of a wedding cake, my mother and Aunt Cheryl (an incredibly talented baker) made Christmas cookies, and a close family friend provided helpful “day of” planning and organization. We also wanted to honor our family members who passed away, as well as meaningfully include our loved ones who couldn’t share the day with us. My cousin, who is like a brother to me, was unable to attend, but wrote a thoughtful short speech on our wedding program, and our mothers collected our favorite old family photos to be displayed around the reception area in mismatched vintage gold frames.
After struggling to find the right gown in bridal boutiques, I decided to design my dress using a cotton lace sheath from Saldana Vintage in California. Just two weeks before our wedding day, I was making changes to the neckline and hemline, and finishing up the final alterations – thankfully, I enjoy sewing and it all turned out fine just in time!
It’s hard to pick just one favorite memory from the wedding day, but walking down the aisle with my father and seeing Jason was one of the most special moments of my life. Our families predicted that Jason would cry and that I would stay calm – but that definitely was not the case! I was so overcome with emotion that I bawled while walking down the aisle and struggled to compose myself in time for our vows. We cried and laughed and cried some more throughout the ceremony!
Other highlights of the day included the father-daughter dance, and watching Jason dance with his mother. Like many people had warned us, the wedding day was a complete whirlwind, and we are so grateful to have had Ali & Paul as our photographers because we will always be able to relive our wedding day through their beautiful photos!
