Spain + Morocco Travel, Part 1
If you’re following Ruffled on Snapchat (@ ruffledblog), you might remember seeing my snaps last month of our trip to Spain and Morocco. We spent three weeks traveling and I got lots to share! I will start with our first stop, Madrid, where we first landed and last stayed from our itinerary.
Location is key when staying in a big city, and since we had our 2 year old daughter with us, we wanted to be within a short stroll to everything. We stayed at the Westin Palace Madrid, and true to Westin fashion, sleeping on one of their Heavenly beds after a long haul flight is pure bliss. We’ve been big fans of theirs ever since we went to St Marteen/St. Martin a few years ago.
The Palace Madrid is a historic hotel dating back to 1912, with architectural details to feast your eyes on. Having breakfast (which was amazing, btw) at La Rotonda Restaurant under the glass dome was one of my favorite parts of the day.
We were close by Museo del Prado, El Retiro Park, shops + restaurants. The one thing you will be eating all day is TAPAS! Tapas for lunch, for snack, for dinner. These mini dishes were also perfect for our toddler, and we get to try different dishes.
The train station being just a 15 minute walk made for the perfect starting point to our adventure. In 21 days, we were able to visit Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Majorca and Marrakech, so stay tuned for our next stop: Seville!
