Posh Southern Wedding in a Botanical Garden
We’re absolutely positive that Carmen + Seth’s romantic Southern wedding in Birmingham, Alabama will give you all the warm fuzzies you need for this week. Not only because of the undeniably lovely details, put together by Alabama’s finest team of vendors, but also the groom’s sweetest gesture a bride could ever ask for. Stay a little longer if you’re a fan of a large outdoor wedding filled with sooo much greenery. It’s gonna be worth it!
Three cheers for Eric & Jamie Photography, whose brilliant style for capturing big weddings like this one, which is perfectly planned by Becky’s Brides, has won our hearts.
From Taylor Justice of Becky’s Brides: The first time I met Carmen and Seth I had NO DOUBT that their wedding was going to be beautiful and full of stunning details! Carmen is an interior designer after all, and her style is on point. After working with both Carmen and Seth for a year (it’s so fun when we get to work with the groom too!), it was so exciting to see their wedding day come to life. Every detail was absolutely flawless and it was seriously the perfect Summer wedding!
It’s not very often that we get to work with the groom almost as much as the bride, but this time around we did. We spent a lot of time with Carmen AND Seth and really got to know the two of them and see their relationships continue to develop throughout their engagement. It was SO sweet how hard Seth worked to make sure that Carmen had absolutely everything she could have dreamed of for her wedding day – from running errands to the sweetest notes – Seth was groom of the year! These two are a match made in Heaven and we are excited to see what these two do together in the years to come.
When we first started planning, Carmen and Seth hadn’t selected a venue yet. Carmen was envisioning an outdoor, garden-style wedding and Aldridge Gardens gave us the perfect backdrop for that. Carmen loves blues and ivory and greenery – and this was the perfect palette to kick off the design. We love a bride with beautiful style who places a big focus on aesthetics and Carmen did just that! Some of our absolute favorite design elements: beautiful stationery from Empress Stationery that set the tone for a beautiful garden wedding, the beautiful donut wall featuring three donuts named after their sweet pets including watercolor paintings of their pets, the stunning greenery chandeliers that hung from the ceiling and the AMAZING cake display and backdrop! There were literally beautiful details everywhere you looked!
Long live the “Bury the Bourbon” Southern wedding tradition!
We can pause a day or two just to adore these cottony-white blooms with a touch of blue and fresh greenery from Vera Flora.
Planning a large outdoor wedding in Alabama in the Summer is always a little bit of a risk. Unfortunately, we never know what the weather is going to do and Summer thunderstorms are always a little unpredictable. Having a stellar plan B is of utmost importance for weddings like Carmen and Seth’s and it’s a good thing we did! Mother Nature was good to us for most of the day and Carmen and Seth got to say their vows in the location that we had originally planned. One of the sweetest things they did was give their minister notes they had written to each other (Carmen hadn’t read Seth’s and Seth hadn’t read Carmen’s). The minister read some of the sweetest things that they had to say to and about each other and their relationship. It was incredibly special to watch them both hear those things for the first time! After the main events of the reception, it was time to par-tay! Unfortunately, this was when Mother Nature decided to rear her ugly head and a monsoon of a thunderstorm graced us with its presence. However, every Becky’s Brides wedding has a good backup plan and we had two tents (along with the pavilion that Aldridge Gardens has) to cover guests during the reception! While the weather wasn’t pretty, Carmen and Seth celebrated their new marriage with all their friends and family through the thunderstorm and it was amazing!
Donuts walls are always a fun addition to any weddings, and if you love colorful donuts, this Colorado wedding has it.
