Southern Highlands Vintage DIY Wedding
Set in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, Australia, this wedding photographed by Jonathan David Photography was styled to reflect the love of history shared by the dear bride and her groom. All of the details were carefully handmade by the bride herself… including her amazing vintage dress!
From the photographer, Jonathan David: Jessica and Raef’s special day took place at the picturesque Peppers Manor House in the NSW Southern Highlands. For them, a special date night together is best spent sharing a drink at one of Sydney’s fine bars or pubs, or getting rugged up in front of the TV and watching documentaries. They absolutely love history so their first and many subsequent dates were spent in Sydney’s oldest alleys and buildings. This love for all things old and vintage played a big role in how their gorgeous wedding day was styled. Raef’s love for history inspired his wedding car choice and the top hat and tails he and his groomsmen wore.
For Jessica, stitching together her own lace vintage wedding dress, before also making her bridesmaids’s and flower girl dresses. She hand-made each of the flowers and bouquets, as well as the hundreds of pin wheels her guests held up high as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife. All of the reception centrepieces and menu’s were also handmade by Jess. They also made large double wooden doors to be opened outdoors for Jess’s grand entrance to walk down the aisle. Overall, their day was an amazing DIY explosion that looked absolutely stunning.
