Alverstoke Barn Perth Wedding

We always love when an Australian wedding lands in our inbox, especially from the amazing Loren Ioppolo of Nectarine Photography. Super stylish bride Caitlin brought her barn wedding dream to life with the help of close friends, family, and her new husband James. Honestly, how gorgeous is this couple?

From the bride, Caitlin: I had an eye for all things “farm” inspired. We wanted to make our guests feel at home for the day, have a place where they could relax under the shade of the tree’s and explore the antique treasure we had collected.

We didn’t really stick to a colour scheme – I found that whilst picking and choosing so many antiques and bits and bobs for the wedding, one colour scheme would of been limiting. As for DIY projects, they were endless! Our whole wedding was handmade! My best girlfriend made every single napkin for the place settings while my mother made the burlap table cloths, my stepfather made our signs, my brother did our chalkboard art, James and a friend made our altar doors – it truly was months and months of thrifting through stores and markets and creating the wedding we envisioned through help of great family and friends.

Any advice for brides planning their weddings now? Take time out to breathe, relax and reflect on your own. Planning a wedding of any size can be a huge task, and this for me was one of the most crucial things to remember to do for myself. Just spending time getting a coffee and reading a magazine was the best therapy to keeping sane and loving the planning process as much as I did.

From the photographer, Loren: Caitlin spent many months sourcing rustic furniture and the like to complete her rustic dream wedding to her love, James. They discovered a delightful old barn in the heart of our dairy country that had been lovingly preserved with many interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Caitlin is a creative soul who knew what she wanted from the start. The floral vendor is a dear friend of hers to whom she allowed to create to her own hearts content. Her sister hand-stitched ‘and they lived happily ever after’ into a panel inside her dress. So sweet.
