Pretty in Pink California Wedding With A Dyed Pampas Backdrop
Today’s pretty in pink California wedding is overflowing with pampas grass design moments that stopped us in our tracks. From the floral hoop ceremony backdrop to the dried flower + lucite seating chart, Sugar Rush Events is serving up just the right ingredients for a pastel wedding with modern romantic charm. Behind the lens is Ruffled vendor, Jen Philips, based in Napa and Sonoma (and frankly, living the dream!). Her images will transport you straight into this cotton candy pink wonderland with texture-forward blooms from Poppy Stone Designs to boot. I know we don’t have to ask you twice to enjoy the dreamy gallery from Dana + Michael’s wedding below 😉 Enjoy!
From Sugar Rush Events: “For Dana and Michael, their wedding was about coming together with family and friends and giving them a special experience up in the Wine Country. They wanted guests to walk into their event and feel welcomed and comfortable; but also wanted to them have exposure to a party like they had never attended before.
Dana was all about pampas grass! It was a critical design feature that she wanted to be highlighted in each area of the event. We have all seen pamaps used in boho, or rustic type weddings; but we wanted to re create the wheel and use them in the most elegant fashion. With the help of Poppystone floral, we came up with the most amazing pampas grass plan! We used a stunning hoop backdrop for their ceremony covered with a mix of blush, ivory and beige pampas grass. It framed the couple beautifully. The base was loaded with florals and greenery that looked like it was creeping up from the lawn. At the end of the aisle; a trio of modern gold stands with dramatic and lush florals and pampas flanked each side.
At cocktail hour, Bowerbird Atelier custom created a seating chart with pressed pampas in between acrylic. She hand lettered each guests name and table assignment.
Guests entered the reception through a chiffon draped entrance, and were greeted by a large crystal and gold jeweled chandelier from 3 Stage Lighting, set in the middle of the dance floor. Guest tables surrounded the custom light feature; which the florist designed an enthralling pampas arrangement coming from the top. Everything about this piece was enthralling!
We brought back the old world, classic ballroom feel at the guests dining table; but gave it a modern twist. The gold chairs had a vintage etching to them, and gave a pop of color from the blush and white wedding design. La Tavola provided shiny velvet blush pink linens and damask white napkins. Dainty gold rimmed glassware, and full low lush florals with a hint of pampas peaking out of the centerpieces and gave such softness to the space. We balance this elegance with modern white and gold flatware, and peach and white china from Theoni. Every detail was procured in mind for Dana’s love for pampas grass and Michael’s wishes for an elegant, yet comfortable affair.”
Floral hoop ceremony backdrops are everything, and this pastel pink California wedding certainly knew how to pull it off! Glimpse more of our favorite ways to spin the floral hoop wedding trend on its head here next. Happy pinning!
