Outlander Wedding Inspiration with Scottish Romance
When this amazing Outlander inspired styled wedding shoot reached our inbox, we couldn’t contain our excitement. We are so caught up by the concept of romance travels through time and where past meets the future love affair. Totally drawn by the getting-ready shots, the beauty of the custom-made corset, and the Outlander-ish wedding dress of the bride. Now, our dear Sas·se·nach, have a look.
Oh, D’arcy Benincosa, your photos never cease to amaze us.
From the photographer, D’Arcy Benincosa: With Season 4 of the wildly romantic series Outlander, it was the perfect time to bring some Scottish inspiration to the wedding world. Tartans, highlands, the sounds of bagpipes in the distance. With Destination Weddings on the rise, finding inspiration around the globe is one of the ways to provide an intimate and romantic wedding celebration.
Combining the old and the new was the main focus of D’Arcy Benincosa for THE PATH WORKSHOPS that she runs worldwide. With the theme of Outlander being torn between two worlds (the present and the past), she had Carrie from Type A Society pull together rich, lush, colors that echo the rich greens of the highlands, the blues of the lochs, and the grays of the heather.
The first look comes with a bespoke, custom-made corset (all hand embroidered) by Mary Rino. Mary also made a light shift to go under the corset to echo the exact nightgown and Claire wears under her wedding gown. D’Arcy wanted to capture this small moment of the couple before they put on the wedding clothes. Always bordering on the sensual with her workshops and her pushing passion between the couple in her wedding work, these subtle shots, especially the ones in the window seat of the beautiful Drylaw House outside of Edinburgh, showcase a true Scottish romance.
Can’t get enough of this Outlander inspired wedding concept? Watch out for our future posts. But in the meantime, may we entertain you with a Game of Thrones inspired shoot?
