New England Vineyard Wedding
If there’s anyone who knows how to knock a wedding out of the park, it’s Lauren Wells Events. Just take one look at this wedding photographed by Lens CAP Productions and filled with flowers from Sayles Livingston Design – the bud vases and milk glass escort cards, the floral ceremony arch, the stylish reception lounge… There are too many good details to name here, so check them out for yourself!
From the bride, Greta: Fall in New England is such a beautiful time and so when Billy and I got engaged in October of 2013, we knew a September wedding the following year would be perfect! That would give us just enough time to find a great venue and book all of our top choice vendors, but not too much time to obsess over details. In other words, we made quick decisions because we knew we had to. After visiting several barns, farms and other rustic venues, we fell in love at first sight with Sakonnet Vineyards. It’s a private, beautiful, wide open space and we’d have the freedom to create our own, unique special day. We had our venue and we had our date and so next was to put together a fabulous group of vendors. I’ve known Courtney from Lens CAP for the past few years. Not only is she a friend, but she’s also an uber talented photographer whose work I have always admired and been attracted to. We didn’t even have to think about it twice before asking her to shoot our day. Through Courtney I was introduced to Lauren of Lauren Wells Events. After taking a look at her blog and meeting her in person, (besides wanting to be her best friend!) I knew she would be able to execute and bring to life any vision that was living inside of my brain as well as bring a whole slew of new ideas to the table. I used both Courtney and Lauren’s wealth of wedding knowledge to find other great vendors and thus brought together a team of players I knew wouldn’t let us down.
We did our best to enjoy the planning process, because as everyone had been telling us, your wedding day goes by in a flash, so try and enjoy EVERYTHING that goes into it. And so we had fun tasting cake, addressing envelopes, creating spreadsheets and practicing our first dance moves. And before we knew it, September had arrived! The two bits of advice that we were given and would definitely pass on would be: Once the ceremony is over and the party begins, grab your new husband/wife by the hand and don’t let go. We visited every table together and never lost sight of the other. The other was to step back throughout the night, have a look around and take mental snapshots of all of our friends and family in one place, at one time, celebrating US. It was amazing to do and it reminded us of why we spent eleven months planning for what would become the most special and memorable day of our lives. Relax, enjoy and take lots of deep breaths. And remember, no matter what little things are seeming to go wrong, all that matters is that you will be married to the one you love at the end of the day.
