Modern Bohemian Portland Wedding
Today’s wedding falls under the category of “sleekest of the sleek,” thanks in no small part to the design work of Kayla Rae Hoppins and Fieldwork Flowers. Kim and Steve’s ceremony took place in front of a display of hanging amaranthus, a bloom that was repeated in the bride’s own bouquet. The reception is the height of industrial modern chic, with all the right bohemian details captured by Brittany Lauren Photography.
From the photographer, Brittany Lauren Photography: Kim and Steve’s intimate Portland wedding was a modern bohemian dream. A pre-ceremony sage blessing preceded their walk down the aisle. The ceremony was officiated by one of their closet friends at Laurelhurst Park. Amongst family and friends the couple said ‘I Do’ against a backdrop of hanging Amaranthus.
Following the ceremony guests made their way to Jacobsen Salt Co., a light filled warehouse in inner Southeast Portland. Guests enjoyed a family style meal by Simpactica. With fresh seasonal salads, salmon — caught by the Groom’s family! Kim, (a graphic designer by day) created all of the day-of pieces, including the gorgeous ombre escort card a-board. Each carefully curated detail perfectly captured the couple’s style. Modern simple and elegant — each element was a shining reflection of the Kim + Steve. Portland funk band The Soul Commanders kicked off dancing with a killer line-up of tunes from the golden age of disco. Guests carried on late into the evening drinking, dancing, and toasting to the ecstatic couple.
