Modern Art Wedding Inspiration Dipped in Clay and Terra Cotta Tones
This gorgeous organic wedding inspiration is all about opposites. And you know what they say, opposites attract! With simple organic details and a massive botanical backdrop, this wedding inspiration shoot beautifully designed by Poco Pink Creative Co. is perfect for the boho bride. This Philadelphia styled shoot brought together a textures galore with a bold color palette or terra cotta and bold blue. It’s like a song of fire and ice, and Haley Richter Photography beautifully captures the romance in contrasts.
From the photographer, Haley Richter Photography: The inspiration behind this shoot was simple- the rich terra cotta color of the earth contrasted against a bold blue sky. We wanted to make the ordinary extraordinary by celebrating something that is often taken for granted and turning it into something wedding worthy. The juxtaposition between the electric cobalt sky and warm clay colors mimic the romantic theory that “opposites attract”. We deconstructed basic natural elements and created an unexpected theme for a wedding reception. The idea of contrast, the harsh horizon line between earth and sky, guided our design for this shoot.
Shindig Bespoke’s wistful text, pressed foliage and metallic touches acted as the perfect introduction to our concept. Poco Pink Creative Co. created playful vignettes using soft, feminine touches found in nature like butterflies, fresh fruit, dried flowers, and fabrics with natural texture to ground our concept. We set these natural softer elements, like Cloud 9 Clay’s curated vases, against intentional architectural shapes, created with wood blocks in bold colors. We wanted to create a design that was traditionally romantic and feminine but with striking and unexpected modern accents. The balance between the sleek brass silverware, acrylic menus and geometric candleholders nestled alongside textural napkins, fresh fruit and ethereal organza created a striking tablescape.
Our bride wore a minimal & modern, off-the-shoulder Liberty & Lace gown. Thoughtful accents added visual interest to her simplistic look. Shimmer and Spice incorporated a touch of the unexpected with blue and terracotta eye makeup. Bario Neal accessorized the outfit with organic, contemporary jewelry that is ethically sourced, further paying homage to our theme of Earth & Sky. The brides cascading floral bouquet from Ferox Studio was soft and organic, playing off of the dusty, romantic backdrop and sculptural floral installation.
We are loving all the terra cotta so obviously we want more! This Countryside Wedding in a Private Villa is fulfilling all of our terra cotta dreams.
