Lovingly Handcrafted Backyard Wedding with Boho Details
Today’s wedding is everything a backyard wedding should be — intimate, a bit eclectic, and with lots of personal touches. April and Paul and Greenbrook Flowers helped to create and capture the entire day, which included rustic reception tables with chevron accents, glass bottles of various hues, and a groom’s cake that plays special tribute to the couple’s love of vinyl records. Let’s jump in!
From the photographer, April and Paul: This is one of those weddings that we would call ideal. Kelsey and Matthew are some of the easiest and most laid-back people you’ll ever meet. We knew immediately we’d love their style and that it would fit well with our brand. I mean wait till you see Kelsey’s amazing “Silence of the Lambs” moth tattoo!! We met at our favorite place, T-bones in Hattiesburg. It’s the best coffee shop/record store ever! Little did we know, this was the perfect spot for these two who have a HUGE love for records. They actually met at a record release at a tattoo shop. They chose one of my (April) favorite spots in Mississippi, Red Bluff, for their engagement session. It’s our very own “Grand Canyon.” It worked out perfectly for this eclectic and fun couple!
Fast forward to their amazing wedding day. They had their entire wedding festivities at The Cedars in Jackson, MS. It’s a super cool and laid back white house with beautiful trees all around. Kelsey designed their ceremony arbor. It was beautiful rustic arbor with hand made macrame. They stood on the most lovely collection of rugs. Their guests sat on an amazing array of mismatched wooden chairs. The details that Kelsey and Matthew chose for their guests were so thought out. They had a Fujifilm camera and tons of film. It was meant for each guests to photograph themselves and put the photo in their guestbook with a little note. They also provided fans, ice cold drinks, and bug spray! Their reception was set up with beautiful rustic tables from Lovegood + greenery with antique glass. They provided Jenga and bean bag toss for their guest, as well as a photo booth. They partied the night away and hopped on Matthew’s bike for a few shots.
