La Badia di Orvieto Wedding Inspiration With Organic Flora
We can’t help but to be captivated by this La Badia di Orvieto wedding inspiration that celebrates the timeless romance and natural beauty of Italy. Vintage inspired details fill these Gothic stone halls like they were predestined to be there, as organic flora spills across grounds + perfectly imperfect tableau. Designs by Hemingway immerses you in the art through textural details and a soft color palette, allowing you to feel like you know this couple + their story already. Our souls are transported to the Umbrian hills whenever we peruse this dreamy film gallery from Ruffled vendor and destination wedding photographer, Jeannemarie Photo.
From the florist, stylist & creative director, Debbie Hemingway of Designs by Hemingway:
This has to be one of my favorite wedding venues in Italy. La Badia di Orvieto Hotel is located in the rolling hills of Umbria surrounded by olive groves and vineyards. It is the site of a beautiful Church of Romanesque origin with the most beautiful marble mosaic tesserae floor at the foot of the altar and aisle that has been perfectly preserved through the centuries. There are frescoes still intact adorning the walls of the Sacristy that date back to the 13th and 14th centuries. The church was my beginning inspiration for a morning bridal session when I first started planning this shoot 6 months prior. When I travel for destination weddings & editorial shoots, I always pack one large bag dedicated to vessels, beautiful gowns & my styling heirlooms. I brought a nice selection of antique brass candle sticks for the church altar that created a beautiful backdrop for our morning shoot in this historical romantic chapel.
My other favorite area of the Badia is the crumbling gothic stone archway over looking the city or Orvieto. If ever there were a place that will make you stop & feel like you just fell down a rabbit hole into a new universe, this is the view. I designed a beautiful table top here facing the magical backdrop. The table was dressed with a floor length gauze linen & a luxurious silk overlay from Silk and Willow. Beautiful fresh floral blooms in vintage brass vessels, luxury taper candle sticks flown in from Denmark candle designer Ester and Erik, and an artistic calligraphy stationery set from Theo Berry completed the table top. If you are looking for a romantic destination wedding venue in Italy, La Badia di Orvieto Hotel is one place you must check out. I’m looking forward to returning soon for weddings!
From Jeannemarie Photo: Being able to photograph at gorgeous locations, La Badia has been one of my favorites to date I immediately fell in love with this 13th century restored church now hotel and venue. It was a dreamy day, along with the soft, romantic details were the perfect pairing with the stone structure of La Badia.
If you’re a fan of this fine art European wedding aesthetic, we have a feeling you’ll love these Italy wedding venues from Lake Como to Tuscany to the Amalfi Coast as well. Cin cin!
