Hammersky Vineyards Wedding
Melissa and Will’s romantic vineyard weddings is the definition of pursuing pretty, though it’s amazingly filled with effortless charm. Textured florals in deep pink and red elevate the space into a glitz and glam wonderland, and mismatched linens host fabby flatware + colored vessels that add dimension and whimsy. It’s truly all in the details – the velvet napkin ribbons that mirror Melissa’s velvet shoes, the lounge vignettes that add a bit of coziness and the twinkle lights that illuminate and romance. Leave it to the incredible vendor team, including Joielala, Vanessa Noel Events and Sprigs, to throw a shindig that is truly magnetic.
From the event designer, Vanessa Noel Events: Melissa and Will live in San Diego, but wanted to create a getaway experience for their wedding. Will attended Cal Poly SLO and the two love wine (hello, who doesn’t?!). They decided the central coast was the perfect spot for their wedding weekend and to bring their families together.
Hammersky Vineyards, with its classic white barn and vintage farmhouse, became the backdrop for Melissa & Will’s wine country wedding. We worked together to create a design that was feminine and soft, but playful and casual. Melissa wanted lots of pink, but not in an overwhelming Pepto-Bismol kind of way and certainly nothing stuffy. We teamed up with Sprigs SLO to create a palette of blush and champagne, poppy red, and deep burgundy for a romantic gradient of color that was perfect for the final days of summer. To keep the floral feeling informal and whimsical, plenty of flowing greenery was added. The way the bouquets looked set against the mismatched Jenny Yoo bridesmaids dresses was just stunning!
As guests arrived at Hammersky Vineyards, they were greeted by a live blue grass band for some pre-ceremony entertainment and a festive picnic to help them enjoy the scenery. One of my favorite details was the mixture of table shapes at the reception–we combined long tables, round tables, and square tables. Each table shape had a different linen design–sequins for a little playful glam, floral print for girliness, and white with kraft paper runners for casual fun.
As the night went on, the barn became the place to be. After dinner on the lawn near the farmhouse, guests relocated to the barn area to watch a beautifully choreographed first dance and then, my personal favorite, a fantastic father/daughter dance routine. Guests danced inside the barn, lounged near the vineyard and sipped whisky cocktails into the evening until the sparkler exit when Melissa & Will led their family and friends to the after party to continue the festivities.
