Grape trellises, charred oak barrels and a redwood arbor set the tone for this glam Bay Area wedding on a vineyard terrace. Shakir and Lauren are as sweet as can be, and from the tearful first look to their “Jump the Broom” ceremony, joy overflows. We can’t wait for you to see her gorgeous illusion back wedding dress, that anemone filled bouquet and a pretty awesome wedding favor display.
San Francisco wedding photographer and Ruffled member, Cheers Babe Photo, never ceases to rock our world with her heartfelt captures and a bright, happy spirit. This gallery is no exception!
The Palm Event Center in Napa Valley proves you really don’t have to leave the US to have a gorgeous destination wedding.
The Flower House filled her bouquet with anemones and wispy astilbe for a pop that quite honestly makes our hearts do the same.
From the couple: We envisioned a classic and romantic style for our spring wedding, so we kept the details clean and simple with small touches to add a bit of glamour. We really wanted our love for one another to take center stage and we tried to create an intimate and fun feel for our guests.
From the photographer, Jess of Cheers Babe Photo: Lauren & Shakir’s wedding in Pleasanton was just breathtaking! This sweet New York couple chose the bay area as the backdrop for their big day since Lauren grew up in the area and I was so thrilled to capture it all. These lovebirds describe themselves as “two of the most inactive-on-social-media millennials you may ever meet”, which makes the fact that they met on Tinder just too ironic! After a week of texting, they met at an Italian restaurant in Chelsea [New York] and the rest is history. Lauren works as an editor, and Shakir is a family medicine physician.
The Palm Event Center in Pleasanton was the perfect backdrop for their vineyard vows. Not to mention, the palm tree lined drive made for some stunning photo moments! Lauren looked absolutely stunning in her lace Pronovias gown. They kept the vineyard theme going at the ceremony with wine barrel aisle markers with floral accents. My favorite part of the day was Shakir’s sweet vows – they brought me to tears!! I also loved that Lauren & Shakir chose to “Jump the Broom” for their recessional – an African American tradition that dates back to slavery in this country, as a nod to their ancestors. The reception was a major dance party with all their closest friends and family. Lauren even had a dress change and danced the night away in the most adorable little fringey white cocktail dress!
What songs did you play?
Processional: Really Love by D’Angelo
Recessional: It Feels Good by Tony Toni Tone
First Dance: Nothing Even Matters by Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo
