The Flower House filled her bouquet with anemones and wispy astilbe for a pop that quite honestly makes our hearts do the same.

This sweet New York couple chose the bay area as the backdrop for their big day since Lauren grew up in the area and I was so thrilled to capture it all. These lovebirds describe themselves as “two of the most inactive-on-social-media millennials you may ever meet”, which makes the fact that they met on Tinder just too ironic! After a week of texting, they met at an Italian restaurant in Chelsea [New York] and the rest is history. Lauren works as an editor, and Shakir is a family medicine physician.
The Palm Event Center in Pleasanton was the perfect backdrop for their vineyard vows. Not to mention, the palm tree lined drive made for some stunning photo moments! Lauren looked absolutely stunning in her lace Pronovias gown. They kept the vineyard theme going at the ceremony with wine barrel aisle markers with floral accents. My favorite part of the day was Shakir’s sweet vows – they brought me to tears!! I also loved that Lauren & Shakir chose to “Jump the Broom” for their recessional – an African American tradition that dates back to slavery in this country, as a nod to their ancestors. The reception was a major dance party with all their closest friends and family. Lauren even had a dress change and danced the night away in the most adorable little fringey white cocktail dress!
