Garden Wedding in Dripping Springs
I swear, it’s like today’s wedding took elements of all our favorite types of weddings and rolled it into one, and ended up with one ridiculously beautiful wedding day. The Nichols and Gypsy Floral put some absolutely beautiful work in as photographers and event designer/florist, respectively. And that dessert bar with drool-worthy iced donuts? Well, we’re already trying to find excuses to set one of those up at all of our upcoming events!
From the bride, Averi: I wanted it to have a boho/romantic style with a comfortable easy going feeling. I also wanted it to have some whimsical/personal touches, like the pug cake toppers (we have 2 pugs), pug cuff links, funfetti cake/donuts, and the DIY calligraphy & cake table backdrop.
Bouquet recipe: Lots of peonies, ranunculus, roses, garden roses, dusty miller, anemone, & protea (a hawaiian flower added to the arch) and a few others I am not sure the name of.
Our color scheme was white & creme, peach, blush, celedon + sea glass with pops of pink, bright peony & gold. I hand painted the watercolor escort and place cards and did the calligraphy on them. I also did the calligraphy on the bar sign, and welcome sign. I made the tassel backdrop behind the cake table.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? It is so easy to get caught up in the whole planning process and the million different awesome ideas you see on Pinterest. I definitely let some really small silly things stress me out that in the big picture didn’t end up mattering at all. I would say that just to try and enjoy the planning process and not get to swept up in the insignificant details. I know it sounds cliche, but honestly it really is about marrying the person you love and not about having the perfect Koozie color or a rain-free day. I tried not to let myself have an exact image of what the whole day would look like, because I didn’t want to get weirdly let down if it wasn’t the perfect picture I saw in my head. So when the day came around, a lot of it was a surprise to me and I absolutely loved how everything turned out!
Wedding Music:
My family and I are huge Love Actually fans so my bridesmaids walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “All You Need is Love” like from the wedding scene, only no spontaneous instruments at mine.
Processional: “Love Story,” Vitamin String Quartet (Taylor Swift cover)
Recessional: “Somebody Loves You,” Betty Who
First Dance: “Thinking Out Loud,” Ed Sheeran
Father/Daughter Dance: “My Little Girl,” Tim McGraw
Mother/Son Dance: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” Iz
Those flowers and that venue…my goodness, how lovely!! Definitely a dreamy wedding (and donuts for dessert? Yes, please!)
The cake is the most adorable thing ever. Beautiful wedding with such a pleasant colour palette. I am now in absolute need of that turquoise chair. So elegant! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, I’m truly agree with you.
