Whimsical Columbus Wedding with a Colorful Palette

Every day I’m amazed by what a powerful effect a bright, colorful, fun wedding can have on my spirit — especially when the couple is all smiles, like newlyweds Austin and Elizabeth. Kelly Maughan Photography perfectly captured a day bursting with love and happiness, and we’ve got the images to prove it. We particularly love the patterned table runners used as place mats!

From the photographer, Kelly Maughan: Growing up just five miles from one another, it is a wonder Austin and Elizabeth Sullivan did not actually meet and begin dating until they were in their late 20s. Their love grew quickly, and soon they were planning their “Best Day Ever”. By focusing on just a handful of elements rather than every aspect, the guests were drawn to the main attraction…. the bride and groom. Inspired by a picture of an amazing single bouquet, Austin and Elizabeth created their dream wedding that married classic and rustic into a fun, laid-back night neither will forget.

Guests were seated at white linen covered tables that were topped with beautiful cactus centerpieces, inspired by the night in Sedona, Arizona where Austin popped the question. Guests were wowed as their eyes were drawn to the head table boldly situated in the center of the room, beautifully draped in an ikat pattern in colors of that amazing bridal bouquet. The contrast of this exquisite head table and the surrounding white tables created quite a pop!

The groom, a graphic designer, provided the humorous wedding program and menu, keeping the night light-hearted for the guests! Food stations positioned throughout the venue allowed guests to float as they feasted on everything from sushi to fried chicken and waffles. Enjoying the sunset over the Columbus skyline, relaxing with friends at the scotch and cigar bar, and dancing under the stars created this magical night for Austin and Elizabeth.
