Pronovias Wedding Show at Barcelona Bridal Week 2016
Last week, Ruffled had the incomparable honor of attending the Pronovias runway show in Barcelona, where the unparalleled brand unveiled their 2017 collection. After spending the day prior to the show visiting both the atelier where the gowns are hand-stitched together by talented seamstresses and the flagship store on Rambla de Catalunya, seeing the gowns in motion on some of the industry’s premier models was just the cherry on top.
Pronovias holds the crème de la crème title when it comes to wedding dresses in Spain, so it was a given they’d close out Bridal Week on the last night. The show was attended by over 2,000 guests all dressed to the nines and tittering with excitement, with attendees ranging from famous fashion faces to international press and buyers. And the actual runway show itself? Pure amazingness, boasting a modern LED light installation mimicking starlight and featuring a touching tribute to Prince as all the lights turned purple and Irina Shayk walked out to a rendition of “Purple Rain.”
Of course, no recap of the show is complete without talking about the gowns themselves, which were carefully curated and had no shortage of jaw-dropping details. The trademark mantra of the 2017 Atelier Pronovias collection was “bigger,” which was interpreted through longer trains, layered skirts, and extended capes which grabbed attention and wouldn’t let go. Of the collection, supermodel Irina Shayk said “I feel very happy to be in the show again because Pronovias is like family. All the dresses make you feel beautiful and I feel like I can be myself when wearing them.”
Pronovias creative director Hervé Moreau joins the models as the show comes to a close, with no shortage of impeccable wedding gowns in sight.
