Ostertag Vistas Wedding
If ever there was a dress to build a wedding theme around, it’s got to be this gold and ivory winner from BHLDN. Kristin and Scott dreamt of a laid-back atmosphere on their big day, and the effortless blend of gold glitter and wood elements helped them realize that dream. Thanks to With Love & Embers and Monica’s Floral Design for your work on this one!
From the bride, Kristin: I really think my BHLDN dress set the tone of our wedding. Once I got that dress, everything else just came together! We wanted the wedding to feel like us – fun, but not over the top. And definitely not cookie-cutter. We wanted a laid-back atmosphere. We spent a lot of time and attention to every detail; we were thrilled with how everything turned out.
Bouquet recipe: Blush and ivory garden roses, baby’s breath, succulents, dusty miller.
Our DIY projects included the wood slice save the dates, invitations and all paper goods, wood slice table centerpieces, Mason Jars dipped in gold glitter, gold glitter feathers, tissue tassel garlands, Gold Glitter banners (“Just Married”, “Mr” + “Mrs”, “Sweet Love” and “Cheers”, wood trellis for ceremony (Scott and his dad built), Whiskey Pallet Seating Chart, all wood Signs (hashtag, wedding logo sign, bar menu and ceremony sign), gold animals (table name holders), and gold succulent pots.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Put your foot down where needed. If you have a vision for your day of how it should feel or look- do it!! People can be quick to question your plans or shoot them down. Don’t let them! Also, if you are planning a DIY wedding, get all of your projects done way in advance. I thought I started really early with everything but still found myself stressed two weeks before! Lastly, don’t sweat the small stuff. Things will go wrong BUT everything will come together perfectly.
