Lyons Farmette Bohemian Wedding
We love hearing these words from a bride: “We wanted the land to be our decor and we added just a few personal touches to the natural beauty that surrounded us.” Newlyweds Ashley and Brian married at the breathtaking Lyons Farmette in Colorado, incorporating a few bohemian touches like a macrame ceremony backdrop and wildflower floral arrangements along the way. From the bride, Ashley: I didn’t have a specific “style” in mind for our wedding but I knew I wanted it to be a collection of all of our favorite things. We love nature and feel very supported by the land which made it important for us to find a beautiful outdoor space that had trees, water, and a fire pit. We wanted the land to be our decor and we added just a few personal touches to the natural beauty that surrounded us.
I’d describe our day as natural, grounded, Earthy, fun! The women in the bridal party wore tones of blush, pink, and rose gold and the men wore gray suits with navy bow ties. The napkins were DIY. We purchased multiple fabrics and created the napkins for the tables, which added a nice touch. The alter was made from family members and we took lots of time and attention to bring photos and important items for our alter space and tables. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was walking through the Lyon’s Farmette garden and showing the florist, who works full time on the land, what colors and flowers I liked. She hand made the bouquets and floral arrangements the morning of our wedding and all the flowers came from the garden on site.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Decide on the top 2 important moments or aspects of your wedding that you both value the most and do what it takes to make those moments go off without a hitch! On the rest of the day think about how both you want to feel and how you want others to feel? Let the rest flow and be loose, creative, and playful.
