From the bride, Gina: We really wanted our wedding to be a unique experience for our guests- one that they would remember forever and one that represented who we are as a couple. We love bright colors and wanted everything to be a little different but still with a classy feel to it. We are also foodies and having delicious food was definitely important to us!

The flowers at our wedding were one of my favorite pieces of the whole wedding! Since I totally trusted Heather with her style and taste I let her collaborate with her mom, Robin of Twigg Botanicals, and the flowers were kind of a surprise for me! I was in absolute awe when I saw my bouquet and the bridesmaids’ – it is one of my favorite memories of the details of the entire wedding – just being so pleasantly surprised by the bouquets. The flowers for our reception were so amazing too! The description of my bouquet: “Loosely structured hand-tied style bouquet may be composed of ruffled garden roses, café au lait dahlias, stock, feathery astilbe, velvety dusty miller and other textural elements designed in a grouped color style in a palette of pink, coral and grey hues finished with a soft ivory wrap.”

Our incredible wedding planner, Heather from Amorology, gave our wedding the name “Work of Heart” which describes our special day perfectly! It was whimsical with a bohemian vibe, water color details and lots of color. We wanted it to be artsy and creative but not tacky, combining some of our favorite things. We wanted lots of color and different elements to really make it a unique experience. Our escort board and cake table are a couple of examples of how that shined through. We decided on this theme for the obvious reason of choosing an art museum as a wedding venue (plus I was an art education major in college) and we just told Heather everything we wanted and she pulled it off better and more creatively then we could have ever imagined! Mint, Coral, Teal, and Gold is what I specified “my colors” as. But I love all color as you can tell!

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? The biggest piece of advice I have is get a wedding planner!!! For me that was my saving grace as planning a wedding is a full time job and I have my own full time job! Plus my mom lives in Florida (we live in San Diego) so she couldn’t really help me either. I am so thankful for Heather and the Amorology team.

  • The alternating colors of the petals for the aisle were gorgeous. Such a lovely wedding with a fantastic color scheme.

  • I am in LOVE with this agate slices for your guests. Can you please share more information regarding this to a fellow bride? Where did you purchase your agate and how did you get everyone’s names on them. Beautiful wedding.
