A Whimsical Florida Lighthouse Wedding In Living Coral
There’s no mistaking Cal and Siobhan’s Florida lighthouse wedding as anything short of whimsical! When it came to the color palette, a bright medley of coral, peach, grapefruit and strawberry answered the roll call in spades, and the result was a tropical summer affair that we’ll remember forever. 59 & Bluebell Weddings and Events brought C+S’ spunky lighthouse wedding vision from a figment of imagination to a bona fide reality through woven bistro chairs, calligraphed blown glass jugs and ocean-inspired linens that quite frankly have us ready to get our feet wet. Southern Floral Company nailed the botanical vision, employing waxy palm fronds, bright ranunculus and eye-catching anemones where it counted, and every wonderful moment was captured with expert craft from Blink & Company Photo. Shall we?
From the Bride, Siobhan: Jupiter, Florida has always been like home to me. My husband & I come down anytime we can and he proposed to me on the dock at my parents house where years prior he had told me he loved me for the first time. When it came to deciding where to get married, the only real question was where in Jupiter are we doing this?! We specifically chose the Jupiter Lighthouse for our ceremony as the Lighthouse is the epitome of Jupiter and a place my family has cherished for over 50 years. When Covid struck and our wedding fell apart, the one thing that remained truly important to us was getting married at the Lighthouse. Fortunately they had a spring 2021 date available that aligned with all of our other vendors and boom, we were back on track! For our reception, we had difficulty with our original venue as well as new Covid restrictions in play at others, so we decided enough with contracts and went Father of the Bride style and had the wedding in my parents backyard!
We splurged on our band & dance floor and it was totally worth it!! When we were planning on 200+ guests we had a large band to help lead the party. With the venue & guest count changes, we divided up the band and had 2 live musicians play during cocktail hour and the other 3 play throughout the reception. We also decided to cover the pool in the backyard and turn that into the dance floor! As we were in the backyard, we were able to save on lighting & as well as rentals by using furniture and decor from the house. It helped add to the cozy romantic vibe we were going for!
Seeing my husbands face when we saw each other the first time will forever be my favorite memory of the day! After the ceremony we took many of the traditional photos couples take after their wedding, but then all our family left and just the two of us went to the beach with our photographer. This gave us some alone time in between the festivities which was so special. Yes you miss cocktail hour in not doing a first look, but that was definitely the best decision we made!
Living coral or living in a dream? We’re honestly feeling like both right about now! This Florida lighthouse wedding is truly a testament to whimsical fun, vibrant colors and unique wedding venues, and we’re so glad we could share it with you!
