Ultra Romantic Fall Wedding in Virginia’s Ivy Rose Barn

Like something from a dream, this gorgeous early fall wedding in Virginia has swept in and captured our hearts with delicate mauve and cream roses sprinkled throughout The Ivy Rose Barn. We love an al fresco setup with romantic festoon lighting and are obsessing over the ivy leaf gold chargers and rattan back chairs at the reception. From the photographer, Nicole Colwell: I have been photographing weddings for 7 years now and my love for all things wedding continues to grow more and more each passing year. Early on in my career I had this dream to open up a wedding venue. I thought this dream wasn’t possible till I was in my 50’s, but here we are in the beginning stages of construction on our wedding venue The Ivy Rose Barn, located in Rocky Mount Virginia. Since the venue itself is not built I still wanted to do a shoot on our gorgeous 70 acres, so we designed a wedding shoot that is for the bride who loves those beautiful outdoor weddings. September in Virginia looks and feels like summer but we are all dreaming of fall weddings, so we chose a color palette that was a soft transition from those summer tones to a dreamy gorgeous fall palette.

Saying “I do” outdoors is truly a blank slate for couples. The possibilities are endless. Our ceremony design was breathtaking with the floral installation by Rosewood Floral Design. The floral colors really stood out with the natural background and the simplicity of the floral alter added to the natural feel of the space. Our early fall days are nice and warm and the temperature drops in the evening, which was perfect weather for this romantic intimate outdoor reception. We chose to use string lights and candles for our lighting and our family style table setup looked amazing underneath the stars. We picked mauve velvet linens, our signature ivy leaf gold chargers, blush matte plates, white gold dipped flatware, gold rim stemware and our rattan back King Louis chairs along with the beautiful florals really took dining outside to a luxury atmosphere.
