While out celebrating her birthday in Atlanta, Kacie recognized a group of familiar friends from middle and high school. Kacie and Kyle had known each other since they were kids. They attended the same schools and even bumped into each other from time to time during college. Magic was in the air that night as Kacie and Kyle reconnected that night and did not leave each other’s sides.
The couple was engaged while visiting Kacie’s family in North Carolina. Kyle knew her family was an important detail of the proposal. He devised a plan to surprise her at brunch. Kacie was unsuspecting, but when she and Kyle were the only ones at the restaurant, she knew something was afoot. After their moment together, on top of the Ponce City Market, the two enjoyed a celebratory brunch with all of Kacie’s family.
Kacie and Kyle’s Georgia wedding embodied the spirit of Barbiecore with the happiest pink color story, vintage decor, and whimsical flourishes of toile. Bride Kacie coined the term “disco grandma” to best define her wedding theme at the White Laurel Estates. This included toile printed invitations, moments of butterflies, and the addition of disco balls. Kacie thrifted the vases used for their wedding as well as the colorful glass goblets. She also enjoyed incorporating many DIY elements, as she printed modern acrylic signage for their welcome signs on her Cricut.
The outdoor ceremony was held beneath a large white gazebo draped in soft fabrics. An altar was created from a vintage green dresser, which was set with delicate bouquets on top and in tender arrangements that burst from the open drawers. Bridesmaids gathered in different bold shades of pink gowns. Kacie’s look included a romantic floral lace dress with adorable tulle shoulder bows and a pair of hot pink heels.
The reception moved into the white barn, as a butterfly seating chart, set against a green toile backdrop, guided guests to their seats. Florals floated above the tables, accompanied by pink taper candles. Disco balls hung above the dancefloor with sprigs of greenery and florals for the dreamiest yet modern Barbiecore vibe. Kacie changed into a strapless reception gown with a bustier top, and sheer layered skirt, and a pair of pink party earrings. The couple donned matching Nike’s to comfortably enjoy the rest of the evening, while his were in white, and hers in pink.
