DIY Vintage Inspired Wedding Day Makeup
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Kimara Ahnert at her Makeup Studio in New York City for a do-it-yourself wedding day makeup lesson. She showed us how you can do your own wedding day makeup for brides who are contemplating going the DIY route.
Big thanks to the talented duo Kelly and Ryan from Kellan Studios who shot the ladies (no pun intended) and to Melanie from One Little Dove for the fabulous wedding hair accessories!
Love the 50’s feel of this look!
Although Kimara and her team offer makeup services, they also offer makeup lessons for those considering doing their own makeup. I was specially excited about this project since I did my own wedding day makeup after a lesson and had no regrets.
A vintage glam look for Erika, who is getting married next year!

Kimara Ahnert believes bridal makeup should looks like you, but just with a more defined version than what you do everyday that will last for a good 8 hours without looking like you have a lot of makeup on too. Kimara’s tip: don’t put on moisturizer unless you have a very dry skin. It will make your makeup last longer! Check out their website for a list of services and products they offer.
What Kimara used on all brides:
