Destination Wedding in Cabo with Citrus
With a color palette of bright yellows, greens, and blues, this destination wedding in Cabo has us missing summer already. Ana & Jerome took the reins behind the camera, while Amy Abbott Events knocked the event design out of the park, using special touches like wooden details and Moroccan elements to give off the perfect beach + desert vibe for a destination wedding in Mexico.
From the bride, Jordan: As high school sweethearts, Matthew and I always felt a strong connection and commitment to each other. So marriage was always on the table. But with a focus on education and career, we were both in no rush. That changed on our first visit to Cabo. We visited Mexico countless times before and never experienced anything like the Baja – the beauty of the desert and beach landscape, luxurious resorts and restaurants, and the warmhearted, generous, and resilient people. So, after 15 years, it took us a one-time visit to Cabo and to the stunning Flora Farm for me to say “This is where I want to get married!” And the rest is history.
Matthew and I wanted our wedding to stay true to Flora Farm – highlighting the beautiful scenery of the farm, rustic inspiration of the buildings, and the FOOD … it was all about the food! So with the fabulous Amy from Amy Abbott Events and inspiration from Pina Hernandez Floral Design, we set our sights on a wedding that is “rustic chic with a vintage flair” in the Mango Grove at Flora Farm. And the wedding captured just that – from the vintage (working) chandelier hung in an old tree above the antique lounge chairs to the family style dining, bright citrus coloured flowers, and the food inspired decor all set amidst the farm fields – it was true to vision.
With an expected 104 degree Fahrenheit heat and Matthew imploring me “not to look like a cupcake,” I chose a bit of the non-traditional – a two piece Reem Acra wedding dress from New York, the bottom of which could be removed to reveal a cocktail dress perfect for evening dancing. I paired this with Jimmy Choo Glitter pumps. And Matthew was stunningly handsome in his made-to-measure Armani suit with Calzoleria Harris shoes. My jewellery matched the theme of old and new – donning my great grandmother’s vintage diamond watch and my Cartier Solitaire Ballerine ring I received on my engagement day in August 2014. All in all, the wedding was spectacular and so much more. It truly brought our family and friends together to share not only in our love for each other but also our love for the Flora Farm and food experience in Cabo!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful wedding.
