Bright Urban Glam Wedding Inspiration In An Art Deco Venue

Urban Glam Wedding Citrus Colors

It’s no challenge to sing the praises of this urban glam wedding inspiration from the rooftops! Fitting, too, as it took place on the rooftop of a newly-opened venue in Philly just bursting with Art Deco vibes. With a poppy blend of marigold, coral, flamingo pink and even lilac, Faye and Renee created a verdant respite from the concrete jungle surrounding. Playful paperie and all-around whimsical concepts from Lovehaus Events led to such heart-fluttering moments as a mobile cocktail bar, a window pane seating display backdropped by blooms and a bright orange getaway bicycle! Leave it to the ever-talented Afrik Armando to capture every flirty moment from the rooftop twirl session to the champagne popping escapades. And every gorgeous design detail in between, of course. See for yourself in the cheery gallery below!

From the Photographer, Afrik Armando: This editorial was a beautiful juxtaposition of upscale romantic glam and urban hip hop. The new Canopy hotel by Hilton is a modern Beaux Arts hotel in the buzzy Philadelphia area that opened this past summer and is tops for a couple seeking a sleek, playful, and hip setting for their nuptials. It’s housed in the 1896 Stephen Girard Building and blends historic elements like plasterwork, rosettes, and columns with a homage to Philly’s creative culture.

The designers opted for a color palette that would be in sync with the colors and art of the space. Orange, blush, and white coupled with touches Pantone’s color of the year 2021, yellow. Bold and glam were the words given to the makeup artist, “we were in the mood for Jay Lo Vibes, a natural look, a luxury dress, and big hair.”. More to this, the team from Faye + Renee brought their magic floral touch which elevated the entire editorial. Through the use of roses, ranunculus, textures, and greens they created “a garden in the city” type of feel for the ceremony. For the intimate reception dinner, the couple was treated to a full course French cuisine menu. The editorial ended with an after-party as the bride changed into her jumpsuit provided by Mari Mi Bridal.
