7 Reasons Why You Should Opt In a Bridal Session
Today we’re joined by Anna + Mateo to talk about why bridal sessions are on the rise, and why in particular, they might be right for YOU. Not only are bridal sessions incredibly multi-purpose if you have the right strategy in place, they can provide a wonderful keepsake for you, your partner or even your family members long after the fact. But this is just the start! They can save you a headache and a half with regards to your wedding day timeline too. Let’s hear the rest straight from the source, shall we?
From the photographer, Anna + Mateo: Deciding to book a bridal photo session may seem a little old-fashioned or like just another thing to add to your schedule and wedding budget, but as destination wedding photographers who have seen it all, we promise that it’s something you won’t regret, for these seven reasons.
1. Take advantage of your hair and makeup trial:
There’s nothing worse than getting all dressed up with nowhere to go! We always recommend getting a hair and makeup trial before your big day so that you can make sure you and your stylist are on the same page and that you like the styles you’ve selected, so why not take advantage of being all done up and get your photos done after?! It’s the perfect way to see how your whole ensemble will come together, and you won’t feel like your trial was a waste.
2. Shake off those pre-wedding jitters ahead of time:
There will be so much less to be worried about on your wedding day when you’ve already seen yourself in your full attire and know that you have plenty of gorgeous images ahead of time. Bridal sessions allow all of this to happen in a low-pressure setting, where you can choose your lighting, schedule, and timeline.
3. Show off your floral mock up:
In the same vein as reason #1, if you’re spending the money on a floral mock up, you might as well get gorgeous photographs of your florals and tie together your bridal look for photos.
4. Wedding Look Preview:
A bridal session is the perfect time to see how everything photographs and have time for adjustments if some of the smaller details aren’t quite right. Maybe you felt like flowy beach waves was going to be the perfect look for your wedding, until you saw how the humidity took over by the end of the photo session, so you’d know to opt for an updo for your wedding day!
5. Gather Your Bridal Details:
Streamline your wedding day timeline by gathering your beautiful bridal details and allowing your photographer to take photos of them ahead of time. This will give you a chance to get lovely images of your beautiful wedding shoes before breaking them in. This will also help you make sure you don’t forget any details on your wedding day!
6. Take advantage of a second location:
Do you love that staircase across town but know you’d never be able to fit in the location for portraits on your wedding day with traffic? A bridal session is the perfect opportunity to receive a gorgeous set of wedding photographs in a different location.
7. Invite Your Groom and Make it a Party!:
While you can choose to make it your shining bridal moment and bask in the excitement that comes along with that, many brides choose to invite their grooms to their bridal portrait session. It’s a great chance to photograph your first look, and you’ll go into your wedding with a lot less stress, knowing that you already have many lovely photographs taken ahead of time!
Who would have thought bridal sessions could be so multi-functional? Not only do they allow you to twirl around like an Old Hollywood star in your gown for a little bit longer and give you even more photos to frame or share with your friends + family, they take the pressure off the wedding day. The timeline, the getting ready location, your entire bridal look… you name it! So take advantage of a bridal session and let us know how it goes in the comments below!
