High Fashion Boho Country Wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch
We love how Rachel and Jim shrugged off tradition to ensure their day reflected them for their Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding! Calluna Events along with the couple planned a boho chic wedding in the mountains of Colorado and even had their guests take a shot of fireball to find their spot on the seating chart. New best friends? Yea, I think so. Also, the bride’s look is FLAWLESS! With a floral + gorgeous blue and white floral wedding dress paired with a hat, this boho wedding in Colorado, beautifully photographed by Doug Treiber, has us glued to our screens!
From the planner, Calluna Events: Rachel and Jim’s 21st of September wedding is a day that we will always remember due to their stunningly unique style! From Rachel’s breathtaking non-traditional dress, an Indigo Aegean gown by Rue de Siene, to the blue and white porcelain ginger jars, the couple flawlessly incorporated many personal touches.
One of our favorite aspects was when they greeted guests by the door and guests were instructed to take a shot of fireball to find their spot on the seating map. Their closely knit families also penned their own unique salute word! The personalized ceremony from their friend was beautifully scripted and their guests were able to experience a one-of-a-kind wedding which was Rachel and Jim’s dream come true.
From the bride: We always knew we wanted to get married somewhere in Colorado. We wanted a place where everyone could stay through the weekend and really make a vacation out of it. Devil’s Thumb was the first venue we visited, and we instantly fell in love with the views, the staff, the food, the list could go on – It was honestly a no-brainer for us.
My style inspiration for the overall look of our wedding was a mix of Newport Beach, CA (take a look at Cydney Morris’ Instagram) with a cozy mountain feel. With a mix of blues & white for the décor by using the classic ginger jars (I grew up with these all over the house), then add my Rue De Seine gown to the mix. It was a match made in heaven. I stalked the Aegean gown in indigo online for almost 6 months, found a lovely bridal shop in Kansas City (Bride.) that carried Rue De Seine, walked right in and told them I already had my mind made up. I tried on a few other dresses to make sure it was what I wanted, and lo and behold, it was. As for the floral situations, I wanted a very monochromatic look (mainly beige & whites) for the flowers since my dress and the beautiful Colorado backdrop were already so colorful. Lale Florals took my vision and created something so incredible, it rendered me nearly speechless. Our day was so incredibly perfect and stress-free thanks to our Calluna crew, vendors, and our parents. We still can’t believe how exceptionally lucky we are.
We just love the fun and nontraditional elements the couple incorporated into their Colorado wedding. One way couples like to make their wedding day feel unique and special to them is to have their wedding at home so we went ahead and created the ultimate guide to having your wedding at home jam packed with helpful tips and tricks.
