Blush Pink Wedding at Carondelet House
Today’s real wedding takes place at one of our favorite LA venues – the Carondelet House! Ever so dynamic, this space features everything from an urban loft interior to stained glass windows to whitewashed brick. Akemi and Brian’s biggest priority when it came to designing their special day was creating an event that reflected, well, them, and we’re happy to say that their wedding was a warm celebration of love, love and nothing but love! XOXO Events made sure the entire day went off without a hitch, and they exchanged “I do’s” beneath a charming combination of chandeliers and exposed beams. We are in serious awe of The Little Branch, whose tangled bundles of ranunculus, anemone, peonies and roses decorated the brick walls in a sliding scale of pink! You can see it all here in these moment-filled images from Priscila Valentina – we dare you not to shed a couple tears.
From the bride, Akemi: We wanted it to be very warm and welcoming, not fussy or stuffy. The venue played a big part since we’re both designers, and we fell in love with the backdrop of Carondelet. We wanted to go for casually elegant, refined, whimsical, old/downtown LA, with a color scheme of muted pinks and gray tones.
Flower recipe: Ranunculus, anemone, peonies, roses.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Do what sounds fun to you and don’t get caught up with what other people think it should be like. We stuck to what we cared about and focused on having fun with friends and family.
Wedding Music:
Processional: Explosions in the Sky
Recessional: “Sunday Candy,” Donnie Trumpet
First Dance: “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” Lauryn Hill
