Blush Pink Pennsylvania Farm Wedding
This bride’s own words say it all: “We were intentional about having a meaningful, intimate ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family followed by a super fun party.” Sarah and Ryan’s Pennsylvania wedding was utter perfection, with a focus on the guests and the couple’s love for each other. Big props to Brianna Wilbur Photography, Elizabeth Kate Events, and Petals with Style and all other vendors involved for a gorgeous day.
From the bride, Sarah: Since our wedding was held outside in beautiful Lancaster, Pennsylvania, we wanted our wedding’s style to be organic and natural. We were intentional about having a meaningful, intimate ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family followed by a super fun party. We truly believe we got the best of both worlds!
Bouquet recipe: Lots of ranunculus, succulents, billy balls, garden roses, and more of which I don’t know the name.
Some adjectives that would describe the look of our wedding would be organic, ethereal, romantic, and fun. We didn’t have a concrete color scheme. I was all about natural, neutral colors with pops of color. The bouquets were filled with lots of greenery and bright flowers. The bridesmaids wore mismatched blush dresses and gold-toned jewelry and the groomsmen wore navy blue suits with gray striped ties. In terms of DIY, I designed the wedding programs, ring box, table assignment board, name cards, table “numbers” (which were actually places my husband and I had been to together and an accompanying photo of us in that location), and the chalkboard signs.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Make sure you fully trust in the vendors you select. I was entirely confident in every vendor we chose and it allowed me to relax and know that everything was covered. I just had to focus on getting married! Also, do as many of the DIY elements long before the wedding. I procrastinated and was super busy designing and crafting the week before the wedding.
Wedding Music:
Processional: “Lullaby + Exile,” M. Ward; “Ends of the Earth,” Lord Huron
Recessional: “Moth’s Wings,” Passion Pit
First Dance: “This Magic Moment,” The Drifters
From the photographer, Brianna Wilbur: I was shooting the reception, walking by a table of college boys when I heard one mumble, “Man, this wedding makes me want to settle down and have a wife,” in a rather serious tone. You know the wedding and couple is amazing when you hear that from a party driven college boy. I knew the bride before her wedding day but not close enough to call her a best friend of course. Now, I see a lot of brides slip on their white dresses. I usually get super excited, genuinely super happy. However, she was different. She literally took my breath away in that gown and I was truly teary behind my camera. I could see the excitement all over her face slipping into that perfect-fit lace dress & watched the realization wash over her that this is her day. She didn’t forget a single detail: the lush florals, various mismatched blush bridesmaid dresses that went together just so perfectly, her dainty green flower crown, the vintage decor, and more! His reaction when he saw her was so genuine and heartfelt (as you will see). These two have this palpable, deep love for one another with a very silly, lighthearted flare. Their vows were carefully crafted, every word picked with a purpose & meaning. The entire wedding felt like one big group of super fans that were 120% Sarah & Ryan. It was an honor to witness this marriage. It rained most of the day, it didn’t matter. This Lancaster, Pennsylvania farm wedding was a dream. The florals were fluffy, lush, and summery. The bridesmaids mismatched blush dresses complimented the rustic, elegant farm feel of Eagles Ridge. The bride is a wedding photographer herself and made every last detail beautiful. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
