Late Mother’s Garden Inspires Beautiful Pastel Wedding

This beautiful pastel wedding at Peterloon Estate in Ohio, put together by the amazing team at KMC Weddings and Events, was truly a sight to behold. With its lush gardens and gorgeous grounds, this majestic venue provided the perfect backdrop for a day of love and remembrance. The bride and groom chose to honor her late mother’s legacy in an incredibly special way – by incorporating elements from her beloved garden into the wedding décor, all captured by Brittany Bays Photography. From KMC Weddings and Events: Catherine and E.J. met by chance at a basketball game. Catherine was with her dad, and E.J. was with his old rugby coach, an old friend of Catherine’s dad. When the two men saw each other, they started catching up like old friends, leaving Catherine and E.J. in silence. Catherine decided to strike up a conversation with E.J., and the rest is history. The two got engaged on Christmas day. After E.J.’s initial proposal plan had been ruined, Catherine found her ring wrapped in a tiny box under the tree.

Catherine found inspiration for her wedding day from memories of her mother’s garden growing up. Although her mother passed away over three years ago, Catherine wanted to honor her by recreating the airy springtime freshness of her garden, but with an elegant touch. She took notes from English garden parties, the cream and light-toned colors of spring flowers, and the show Bridgerton.

They had one of Catherine’s mother’s favorite cocktails as a signature drink, and some of the floral arrangements included flowers that her mother used to grow. The boxwood seating chart, the tented reception area draped with foliage and greenery, and the gorgeous cake display overflowing with florals made for the perfect mix of simple and elegant at this garden-themed spring wedding. – KMC Weddings and Events
