Love on the Rocks: Aspen Wedding with Modern, Tropical Vibes

Aimee and Tim are killing it in the adorable couples department. We’re not quite sure joy has ever been so infectious! Their outdoor Aspen wedding combines the organic beauty of nature with quirky details that make the couple them, and we are overjoyed to be sharing their “love on the rocks” fete with you today!

Rachel Havel Photography captures moments that may just bring tears to your eyes. Don’t worry, the whole “twig” excuse totally works if you’re at the office, and your coworkers hear some sniffling.

Their ceremony was pretty darn scenic and a serious beauty to behold, but just wait till you get to their sailcloth tented reception with lucite chairs, tropical frond garlands and a photo booth we may have hogged the whole night. All artfully designed by Bluebird Productions, it’s pretty rad.

From the photographer, Rachel Havel : When a couple begins to plan their wedding, the guest experience is always a high priority on the list. For Tim and Aimee this was true, but what sets this couple apart is that half the experience of the wedding was purely being able to witness the magical love that these two shared together. As one of their friends said, “They catch themselves having this pure uninterrupted moment of love and appreciation for one another that I think is impossible to fake and sacred to find.” Their love is truly made for the big screen.

Even though the couple wouldn’t consider themselves “outdoorsy”, they wanted to be connected to nature on their wedding day. The couple chose Star Peak Estate in Aspen, Colorado for their wedding. Tucked back in a valley in Aspen, with breathtaking views of the mountains, they hosted their guests as they committed their lives together.

The wedding had an organic and natural feel with modern touches throughout. The couple really embraced the nature throughout the wedding decor. Guests were lead down a 200 ft. wooden plank and seated at the base of the mountain for the ceremony. They took in the view during the cocktail hour as they enjoyed the outdoor lounge and bar area. As they moved into the reception tent, they were greeted with lush greenery and white florals on the tables, and a stunning living wall with a neon sign from Sygns that was not only a focal point of the room, it served as a backdrop for photos throughout the evening.

The beauty of the moments shared throughout the day matched the beauty of the surroundings and decor. It was truly a most memorable celebration, not just for the lovely couple, but for everyone who got to be a part of their wedding weekend.
