Al Fresco Garden Wedding With Whimsical Pastel Blooms
What can we say? Al fresco garden weddings simply make us giddy. And this strikingly romantic hilltop fete captured by Ariel Min Photography is no exception! Loopy calligraphy, a reclaimed wood farmhouse table and wicker baskets bursting with pastel blooms from Moonlight Floral Co bring Hunter and Spencer’s charming celebration to life, and we are loving the inspired details dreamed up by Serene Events and Design throughout. If you’re captivated by handpainted cakes, marquise engagement rings, embroidered lace wedding dresses or whimsical floral pillars, you’re sure to find all the inspiration you need in this sophisticated, femme dream!
From the Photographer, Ariel Min Photography: Hunter and Spencer met a couple years ago at work in LA. Although they never talked much, they hit it off after a friend set them up. They connected over their love for trying new things – so they decided to make it a goal to try a new downtown LA bar every week. After many adventures and travels, they got engaged after two years of dating. When they got engaged, they had no idea what was in store for them. They had to postpone their large wedding multiple times, but the couple took every hardship with grace. They are full of joy and love. You can clearly see their comfort and affection towards each other in every effortless shot. After dealing with date changes, they decided to plan a day shared with only close family and friends. Through it all, they proved their love for each other and showed strength and dedication. They just bought their first home together and love doing home projects. They can’t wait to start a family together, so their first step will be adopting a dog!
From the Planner & Designer, Serene Events and Design: My inspiration for this shoot came from garden parties. I immediately thought, parasols, baskets and lots and lots of flowers. I wanted to elevate this look so I added a classic, vintage car and gorgeous whitewashed farm tables. I included soft colors and various textures throughout the day. The baskets, chairs and cake brought that texture while the gorgeous flowers surrounding it made you feel like you entered a whimsical garden. I envisioned graceful, dreamy calligraphy paired with soft, cotton stationary. I love the idea of having neutral colors with pops of light purple.
The ceremony was surrounded by a lot of natural greenery and included a deconstructed floral arch and overflowing floral baskets. After an intimate ceremony, we moved to dinner with a view. The sit down dinner was paired with candles, a sun set and various purple and white blooms. As champagne popped and cake was cut, the sun got dimmer and candles grew brighter, casting soft touches on the tablescape. It was a beautiful way to end the late summer day.
Isn’t the gossamer silk ribbon the most darling finishing touch on that cake?! If you found yourself oohing and ahhing over every frame in Hunter and Spencer’s al fresco garden wedding, you might fancy this vibrant Kestrel Park wedding next.
