Microwedding Design Ideas For Spring and Fall Dates Impacted By COVID-19
It’s no secret that COVID-19 has brought stress + uncertainty to 2020 (and even 2021) brides. Making the decision to postpone your wedding is overwhelming enough, but add onto that the fact that the new date may take place in a different season, perhaps in a different location and likely with certain policies in place based on local government guidelines. Today’s feature captured by The Crakes & Sloane Photo showcases a beauty-packed example of how spring brides can transition their color palettes, decor and food & bev choices to a fall wedding and vice versa. Simply XO Events brings all the darling details to life in these microwedding design ideas, and we’re enamored by the unique florals from Remi & Gold to boot.
Flirty Color Pop Spring Wedding Look
From the planner, Simply XO Events: Imagine you are a bride and groom whose been engaged for 12 months and planning your dream wedding. You have your A+ vendor team creating some magic. All of the details are finally starting to come together and then COVID-19 hits.
I mean, what the heck. What was once a fun, exciting conversation about wedding planning is becoming an overwhelming, uneasy conversation about rescheduling.
Your perfect spring wedding in March is getting rescheduled to a sunny, fall September day. Or maybe your cool November wedding is getting pushed to a summery June day. Or maybe you are trudging forward with your original wedding date but there are tons of CDC requirements and recommendations that are altering your wedding day. On top of that, you have to amend your design, floral and take further steps and actions to make your guests comfortable during this time.
We wanted to collaborate with other Austin, Texas creatives to show you what it is like when you have to pivot your wedding day. From accommodating 6 guests per table, to moving your spring floral and details to the fall or vice versa, this shoot is dedicated to our loving couples and couples all across the world who are creating alternative plans with their vendors to still make magic happen. I mean, who says plan C can’t be just as good as plan A.
We’re loving the fun pops of color + texture in this take on a spring wedding! From the starburst shaped centerpieces to the popsicle shooters to the pearl embellished bridal gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves, we are here for everything on display! Speaking of displays, just wait til you see the fruit + cheese laden grazing table below.
Deep Citrus Fall Wedding Look
As we dive into the fall wedding concepts below, notice how the bold typography juxtaposes perfectly with the romantic, scripty calligraphy. Not to mention the die cut paper goods! In this postponed spring-to-fall wedding, the couple is doing the most with their al fresco dinner, amidst candlelight and the same acrylic chairs they likely had for spring. Spicy margaritas are swapped out for icy shooters, and they’ve added an adorable coffee corner to boot! We can’t imagine anything more Gilmore Girls fabulous for a fall wedding transition.
These microwedding design ideas offer some great visual insight into how restrictions your venue may have in place as a result of COVID don’t have to be so dim + grim. A table for six can feature more robust place settings (which your budget may allow pending a reduced guest list than originally anticipated). Signature cocktails + apps can be attended with white glove service as opposed to a self-serve vignette. Your wedding cake can utilize interesting techniques that might not be possible otherwise (some venues are recommending couples display a faux cake with pre-cut slices in the back for hygiene purposes). There’s always a silver lining, and the most important thing to remember is that your lifelong commitment to one another is all that truly matters in the end.
I hope these microwedding design ideas for fall and spring encourage any rockstar couples out there who are riding the wave of COVID. We’ll get through this together, and there’s still hope for a meaningful, gorgeous celebration of love, no matter the date.
