Our Warm Neutral Bathroom Refresh with DIY Wall Paneling
It’s home improvement season, and our first project during the quarantine was a DIY wall paneling in our bathroom. We took on the role of weekend warriors during these times to tackle our most ignored room in the house – our tiny master bath! With a few materials and tools, we DIY our bath refresh by installing vertical shiplap, so read on below to see how we did it!
Some of you might have been following our home improvement journey in my Insta Stories, where I shared how I DIY’d the vertical paneling wall and added a builtin medicine cabinet nook in between the studs to maximize storage.

Before
Here’s the only image I have of the before from when we moved in – the layout itself wasn’t terrible, but there was no storage. At the time, this was the only full bathroom in the house. We added a main family bathroom by utilizing the space of two large closets in the hallway that were next to this bathroom and shifted the toilet pictured above under the window.
We also removed the baseboard and added radiant heat, which is hands down, the best decision we’ve ever made! So nice to walk in the bathroom with warm floors in the winter. All of the trim work was removed and we added molding to match the original millwork of the rest of the house.
