Industrial Loft Turned Feminine for a Valentine’s Day Wedding

Under a cloud of pink, this industrial loft in NYC was transformed into an ultra romantic and feminine wedding for Valentine’s Day designed by Wild Heights Events. Filled with soft and chic details we are oohing and ahhing over the ombre florals, the wispy blend of flowers in the hanging installation and the dreamy off-the-shoulder bridal dress with detachable sleeves. Rebecca Ou Photography‘s gorgeous photos easily just our Valentine this year.

From the photographer, Rebecca Ou Photography: Weddings are a celebration of love, so how could we not pay homage to the ultimate holiday of love? Bring on the romance and the pink. Rebecca, of Rebecca Ou Photography and Willa, owner and lead planner of Wild Heights Events, wanted to create a shoot that embodied Valentine’s Day.

As both of us live and work in NYC we wanted to capture the essence of the city. The answer? An industrial warehouse in Long Island City. We loved the bright natural light from the windows, the soft greys of the cement floor and white washed brick walls. We softened this look up by filling the space with florals, delicate glassware and crisp paper goods. The warehouse acted as the perfect backdrop for an ultra chic ultra feminine tablescape. A marriage of modernity and femininity.

The color pallete came easily: PINK. We wanted the pinks to stay soft, to align with the matte textures we had from the plates and vases. While we wanted depth we didn’t want too much of a contrast within the tablescape. The soft ombre of the flowers provided its own softness to the space, filling it with a variety of color and texture. Victoria from Designs by Ahn brought her touch of femininity with her sculptural designs.

The table was dressed in pink white and gold. Each place setting adorned with a flower filled acrylic box with “xo” hand-lettered on top. Jubilee Paper created a wonderful invitation suite, a beautiful display of pink hues and effortless lettering – the menus gently tucked into the place settings.

Like a puff of paint dust, magically organic with wild pastels, the arch floated above the couple – as if suspending them on cloud nine, adding a whimsy of euphoric and soft. Inspired by the fluff of hanging florals we chose Liza Ray’s off the shoulder dress for this shot. The detached tulle sleeves were so delicate, complimenting the cloud-like feel of the arch above. We chose to have the brides hair down in loose waves for a soft elegant look. Her dark brown hair perfectly contrasted with the gold Iris Studs by Jade Oi.

We wanted to show how a ceremony arch could be repurposed to be a beautiful floral moment for a sweetheart table or an intimate dinner for a party of six. Not only is this the perfect idea to reuse florals to be more environmentally friendly, it is also budget friendly to reuse an arch to be part of a dinner setup. For the second part of the shoot, we got our fashionable and practical bride to wear Liza Ray’s jumpsuit accompanied with sheer gloves.
