Tropical Palm Springs Wedding with a Touch of Disco Fever
This colorful tropical soiree is full of flamingos, disco balls and fluffy Pomeranian pups! Beautifully designed to a T by the bride, we are loving the marriage of two unsuspecting themes: tropical and disco. With palm leaf printed bridesmaid dresses, tiered pink wedding cake with pops of citrus, and mini disco balls this tropical Palm Springs wedding is an event to remember! We are loving all the floral goodness by Artisan Events Floral Decor and can’t help but smile with the bride and groom as they laugh their way through their wedding day beautifully captured by Cavin Elizabeth Photography. So snuggle up with your fav fluffy friend and prepare yourself to fall in love with these colorful details.
From the planner, Josefina Events: With a passion for all things pink and green, the bride had always loved designer Lilly Pulitzer and the historic hotel, Beverly Hills Hotel. Those two sources served as the perfect color muses to include in a tropical palms springs wedding with a touch of disco fever. How do we marry the two? See below.
Guests were greeted with mimosa and donuts (don’t you just LOVE brunch weddings?!) as they approached a desert tropic ceremony, bamboo chairs lined the aisle for guest seating and floral cacti enveloped the white pergola. The ladies wore palm leaf printed dresses and carried bouquets stylized with mini pink pineapples and monster palm leaves. The guest of honors, Coco and Winnie, the couple’s Pomeranian pups, were included in the ceremony of course as this wedding was all about all things palm and pom….
During cocktail hour, guests dined on avocado toast, mini wedge salads, and rosé shrimp shooters Pink Flamingos lined the pathway to the reception space as guests “flocked” to their seats to “flamingle”. At the reception they were greeted with two bars, one in which was appropriately named “Sparkle Bar” since it only served assorted champagne. Tables featured a mix of rounds with white sequin linens and white almafi king tables with pink and white striped cabana runners. Laced into the design were palm leaf napkins, pink and green dish sets, and even a second bar with palm leaf shutters.
Since the groom is originally from Louisville Kentucky, the bride wanted to give a nod to her groom’s hometown, known by some as the birth city of the disco ball, and today has the factory that is America’s leading disco ball maker. Mini disco balls spilled out of floral arrangements, dangled from a tree above the “Sparkle Bar”, was placed inside an acrylic cake stand for some shimmer to the citrus inspired dessert bar, and last but definitely not least, we incorporated a huge DJ booth that looked exactly like a disco ball. Guests noshed on brunch foods starting with a papaya filled yogurt parfait before they walked amongst omelet stations and tater tot and bacon bars. The day was a collage of personal touches and sentimental details.
We are loving these colorful Palm Springs weddings so this modern desert wedding is a must see!
