Colorful Beachfront Cape Cod Wedding
Cape Cod is so much more than a beach destination, it’s a style all on its own. From English cottages to delightful garden rose bushes, this Massachusetts’ destination is one of the most stylish places to visit and get married at, and Catherine Threlkeld captured Lauren and Mike’s wedding filled with color with an ultra chic mood! Lauren and Mike first approached me to photograph their wedding day with the goal of “beachside elegance” at the beautiful Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham MA, where the couple has vacationed for years. Lauren, an event planner herself, knew how important the details of her wedding day were to create an incredible experience for her guests.
The entire day was peppered with carefully-thought, hand-crafted details that the couple sourced from a number of artists and craftsmen, including a watercolor picture of their dog Cooper, pink taper candles around vibrant reception florals, and welcome bags for their guests that featured Cape Cod chips and Newport Sea Salt Co. treats.
After a windy and romantic ceremony facing the Chatham harbor, peppered with lobster and fishing boats, Lauren and Mike spent some time with their beloved dog Cooper for portraits. We were able to spend plenty of time wandering around Chatham Bars Inn and the beach, exploring many beautiful spots on the property.
They chose the intimate Ocean House at Chatham Bars Inn for their reception. The restaurant’s standard light blue bistro chairs were the perfect element to add to Beach Plum Floral’s elegant and colorful design. Each table had a vibrant dahlia centerpiece, bursting with pinks, oranges, and peaches. Delicate watercolor calligraphy on table numbers accompanied the display.
The night was as fun and wild as it was beautiful and refined. I stayed for the entire reception, dancing to the incredible music by Night Rhythm. Lauren and Mike barely left the dance floor the entire night and left their guests to a floral petal exit.
