Pastel Glam Wedding at LA's SmogShoppe
If you’re familiar with Los Angeles’ SmogShoppe, then you’re well aware how gorgeous their events always are. Match the incredible scenery with the styling prowess of Sweet Emilia Jane and the photography of The Hearts Haven, and you’ve got a wedding that’s captured every bit of our attention! This reception is one for the books, so make sure you don’t miss a thing:
From the bride, Jackie: We wanted something comfortable and homey. We love both rustic-chic and industrial styles which is why SmogShoppe was perfect for us. We chose a color scheme of blush, cream, and sage. The restored Durham Deli sign was originally built by Bob’s mom. We restored it and Emilia decorated it and found somewhere for it to be featured to pay homage to his mom.
Bouquet recipe: Peonies, anemones, dahlias, english tea roses.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? The day goes by so quickly that the majority of the true pleasure we found derived from all the love we felt and found leading up to it. The most important choice we made was to chose a wedding planner who completely understood our taste and style. If you find someone as amazing as we did, it makes it easy to relax and believe everything will work synergistically without having to micro-manage the details yourselves.

From the event designer and florist, Sweet Emilia Jane: When Jackie and Bob are together their infectious smiles and laughter brighten every single corner of the room. I love that The Hearts Haven was able to capture the very-special something that these two share. It just shines out of every image! I knew that their wedding was going to go down as one of the most fun-filled days ever and it blew past any expectation I had. We wanted to combine rustic romance with the SmogShoppe’s urban appeal. It was the perfect mix of styles for this glamorous yet down-to-earth couple who met on the ski slopes of Utah and have made a home for themselves in Los Angeles. Lace draped across the tables and literally hundreds of candles mixed in with garden roses, peonies and cafe au lait dahlias set the scene for our romance-to-the-max atmosphere. My favorite element by far, though, was the modern wood arch we draped with flowing fabric and dripping with greenery and flowers. Beyond the pretty, pretty details was a party that will most likely not be forgotten too soon by the lucky guests. Whoa Nelly, Pharmacie, Flashdance, The Vintage Table, SusieCakes, Carmela’s Ice Cream… pretty much the dreamiest dream team EVER! It was non-stop fun from beginning to end!
Thank you so much for such a gorgeous feature. So honored to be a part of your gorgeous blog. xxxooo
The pastel colors for this wedding are simply incredible. The tones are matching very well and the images are so pleasing to see. The wedding photographer did a great job on capturing the details, decorations and flowers at this event.
So many green and colorful tones. What a better way for a couple to remember their wedding than to have images that can remind them for their big day. Like a wedding photographer myself I can appreciate the effort and energy that went to capture this.
Thank you for sharing it on your blog so we can draw ideas and inspiration for our own weddings.
The table runners are gorgeous. I love the lace and then having it tied at the table ends.
