Cheery Summer Wedding with Wildflowers and Citrus
Heidi and Josh didn’t have to look far to find a venue in tune with the laidback, dinner party vibes they envisioned for their summer wedding. Josh’s parents had just the place at their rustic chic ranch in Temecula! Inspired by citrus, wildflowers and the carefree ambiance of summer nights, they said “I do” in the happiest of ways, and their smiles practically burst from the photos below.
We are simply thriving off of the energy in these photos from Alexes Lauren Photography! Have you ever seen two people more in love?
Planned by 9TwentyEight Events, this colorful fete was made up of all the right ingredients for a night to remember. A dance floor lit by market lights + lanterns, tables laden with candles and lemons, a mobile bar built by the groom himself… we could go on!
We’re ob-SESSED with his colorful groom attire! Featuring salmon pants, a floral bow tie and snazzy blue shoes to complement his suit jacket + button-down… well done, sir. Well done.
Bloom Babes upped the floral antie with their loose arrangements of ranunculus, roses, peonies and even kumquats!
We’ll let Heidi spill their full story below!
We met the old fashioned way, at a bar, without the use of any technology. We were immediately drawn to one another! No one is really sure what may have caught my eye, but hey, I doesn’t have the greatest vision 😉 However, timing wasn’t right when we met. After a couple of random chance encounters, a friendship developed. Conversation felt familiar and new at the same time. Josh asked me out for our first “date.” Since that night our friendship become love, and that love has become a partnership. We are so excited to build a life together, have a family, and live the rest of this love story together.
As soon as we settled into the whirlwind excitement of being engaged, we knew we wanted our wedding to be more of a fun and eclectic party that they happen to get married at instead of a traditional wedding. We quickly decided on Tucalota Creek Ranch in Temecula as the perfect venue, which also happens to be Josh’s parents’ property. The many picturesque areas of the ranch gave us the freedom we desired to design a completely unique event with an intentionally low-key, but creative vibe that matched our personalities.
Loving this dark-stained table with shabby chic sweetheart chairs, plus a delicate lace runner from Rustic Events!
The decor was inspired by my obsession with lemons, bright colored wildflowers, and summer evenings under the stars. The girls from Bloom Babes perfected my vision with a romantically messy bouquet of colorful flowers that even included kumquats. For the wedding arch, I wanted to create a modern style with clean lines in juxtaposition with the otherwise rustic vibe of the venue, so together we built the arch from scrap wood at the ranch. The farm tables were lined with loose greens, fresh cut citrus, candles, and potted herbs. Criss-crossed market lights, and softly lit lanterns completed the under the moonlight feel I so wished for.
Natural and sexy all at the same time, her bridal look from Beach Bridal Beauty and Genna Khein receives an A++++.
Heidi’s Made With Love Bridal gown is truly one-of-a-kind with it’s corset bodice and flirty front slit. And check out that scalloped hem!
The big reveal of the wedding was the Hooch Hauler – a fully functional Mobile Bar built by the groom from an abandoned horse trailer. A true passion project that nearly cost Josh his finger during the build, it was the focal point of the reception and a hit with the guests!
They had to end with a bang, right? Their motorcycle getaway is goals if we ever saw it!
