Candlelit Indoor Garden Wedding with Classic Femme Touches
We were pretty giddy when we first spotted this PNW wedding overflowing with natural blooms. As the rain came trickling in outdoors, the soft glow of candlelight illuminated Joe and Hailey’s ceremony and reception in a way that created an indoor enchanted garden. Nothing spells romance quite like lush greenery, and this wedding is chock full of it.
This hand-embellished gown with a blush illusion bodice from Hayley Paige is giving us all the feels. Just imagine that twirl power! And effortless glimmer.
From the bride, Hailey: When Joe and I talked about our wedding and I thought about what I wanted the day to look like I knew I wanted it to be warm and inviting. Having a February wedding in the PNW limited the amount of sunshine and natural outside beauty so bringing in the flowers and candles to make the place feel welcoming was important to me. I also tend to have feminine and romantic taste and I wanted to have that shine through in a classic way. I would describe our wedding as warm, classic, and romantic. We were originally going to do mostly neutrals but our wedding designer/planner encouraged us to bring in some blush and deep red tones during the planning and dreaming process. We kept our bridal party in neutral and navy to keep the color scheme but not be overly matchy with the decor.
This loose tousled updo from Yessie Libby is serious perfection. Can she make us up every day?
A super special piece of the decor was the handmade stage Joe and I stood on while we got married. I knew I wanted to be surrounded by friends and family when we said our vows but needed to be a little elevated so that people could see. My father is extremely talented and standing on something he so beautifully built was really special.
Classic scroll seating chart from la Happy that’s a total visual delight!
You can always count on Sinclair & Moore Events to whip up jaw-dropping arrangements, like this climbing floral staircase at Lord Hill Farms with gentle flames to guide the way. So good!
A 5-tiered wedding cake with the most pristine handpainted sugar flowers? Midori Bakery is taking the art of dessert to new heights!
Picking songs was an extremely fun part of planning our wedding and allowed more of our personalities to come through on our day! We had our close friends play and sing for our ceremony. Our bridal party walk down to a live rendition of “To Be Alone With You” by Sufjan Stevens and I walked down to a live rendition of “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty which Joe had played for me the first time he told me he loved me. For our recessional we played “How Long Will I Love You” by Jon Boden, Sam Sweeney & Ben Coleman. For our first dance we played the same song, “How Long Will I Love You”, but the Ellie Goulding version instead which is a bit slower and romantic. Joe and his mother danced to “God Only Knows” by She & Him and my dad and I danced to “Time After Time” by Iron & Wine. The rest of our dance party was a blast and our DJ did such a good job! There were a lot of great moments on that dance floor and that was what we had wanted for our guests.
I quickly learned that everyone has an opinion on how to best plan a wedding! My advice would be to pick a few things that really matter to you and your future spouse and let go of other details. The wedding planning process was really fun for us because I didn’t feel pressure to have every single item a top priority. Joe and I really wanted to have a good party (a DJ and good food/wine were a must), really great photos, and a really beautiful space. Once we nailed those items down the rest was not nearly as stressful and we could enjoy the process and prepare for the rest of our lives together.
Kate Price Photography captures every detail with gusto, and you’d be hard pressed to find a wedding inspired by a neutral palette with more LIFE.
