Destination Wedding in Tuscany with Al Fresco Dining

Well hello there Italy — we’re oh so glad to see you. Anna and Raphael celebrated their love in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, bringing along the closest of friends and family for a once-in-a-lifetime event. Facibeni Fotografia, Tuscany Wedding Events, and I Fiori di Claudia were perfectly suited to take care of the big day, capturing all the important moments and bringing the couple’s romantic vision to life.

From the bride, Anna: I really wanted a mini wedding in which we could feel comfortable and free to enjoy it with our families; that’s why we chose a destination wedding (we chose Italy because we love the country — our parents haven’t been there and my husband has some relatives there). I really wanted a rustic place, like Quercia al Poggio, and at the same time I wanted to balance the wedding with some delicate things, such as colorful flowers and the bulb lights.

Believe or not, I was crazy enough to ask my wedding planner for this composition of colors in my bouquet: 30% salmon, 20% pink, 30% soft pink and 20% green hahah but I knew that the main colors would also be green and golden because of the place (trees, grass, venue). We did the flavors by ourselves, such as the confetti almonds and the customized wine. My sister bought some transparent small boxes and satin in Brazil and I bought confetti almonds in Firenze. We bought the local wine Quercia al Poggio, ordered labels in the same place the winery makes their labels and printed the guest tags.

Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? For couples doing a mini wedding or a destination wedding, I suggest taking a day before or all morning to just relax. Also, our best decision making was based on the things would make us really happy (even though they represented more expenses), such as the photographer, the live band, the flowers and the bulb lights.
