Prairie Farm Wedding
Brooke and Tony’s wedding, shot by the talented Kina Wicks, is the epitome of a backyard wedding — personal, relaxed, and handmade, right down to the rice krispie wedding cake made by the bride’s mother! We were delighted to see a few shots of Brooke taking her own spin on wedding day attire, tying a plaid shirt over her fluffy David’s Bridal confection. And those twin flower girls? Adorbs!
From the photographer, Kina: This idyllic wedding was held at the Heritage Prairie Farm in Elburn, Illinois which in itself is pure rural elegance. The details of the day were completely DIY from the bouquets made from magazine papers and tulle, to the moss covered centerpieces, to the giant rice krispie treat wedding cake crafted by the bride’s mother! Because of the easy going nature of a rural, backyard wedding, I feel that the day was able to reflect the full joy of two people beginning their lives together with no distractions. Just a day full of sunshine, love, family and friends.

Where are the bridesmaids dresses from? Especially the one closest to the camera in the picture of them hanging up?
Amazing idea for flowers!
Cute and down to earth!
Chelsey,
I’ll see if I can find out for you. I know all the bridesmaids purchased their dresses according to taste. The bride just gave them the color palette. I want to say it was Forever 21, but I’ll try to find out for sure.
Chelsey,
The dress closest to the camera is from urban outfitters.
