Intimate Garden Restaurant Wedding
Katie and Connor’s wedding day is one for the books, you guys. Held in an intimate restaurant in the West Village of NYC, the reception was full of incredible flowers, rich greenery, and navy and gold polka dot table runners that have stolen our hearts. Redfield Photography and Designs by Ahn did some of their best work on this one!
From the bride, Katie: Our first thought was actually to elope, but that quickly changed so we could share the day with our loved ones. However, we still wanted to it to be an intimate special day. So the guest list was very limited, we were able to do a first look in the park before the service that then took place at a church in our neighborhood. The reception location was a cozy restaurant in the West Village that felt like it could have been a friend’s home. In the end it turned out to be so us, I don’t think we would change a thing!
Favorite memories of the day: The first look! It was a beautiful autumn morning in the park; it was a quiet moment with just the photographers, the wedding party, and us. It really was the perfect way to calm our nerves and start the day. The day went so fast, we were so thankful to have photographers who we trusted, and we ended up with photographs that will help us treasure the memories of that day forever! A great part about having an intimate wedding is that it is much easier to add custom DIY touches because you have such smaller quantities to produce. For our wedding this included painting gold dots on the table runners, spray painting unfinished wood candlestick holders, and making a sign for the cake table.
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Spend your time working out the elements that mean the most to you. Also, I think it was surprising how some of the little things you worry about leading up to the wedding, seem so unimportant on that day.
Spectacular venue and the dress is so enchanting.
What a romantic reception location! And the florals for this wedding are just breathtaking!
