Oregon Garden Resort Wedding
We love when a bride knows exactly what she wants, and today’s bride knew from the very beginning that a garden wedding would be perfect for her big day. Jamie Rae Photography, Whitney Werts Events, and Swoon Floral Design all did phenomenal work bringing Chrissie and Michael’s dreams to reality, incorporating tons of dahlias and other beautiful blooms for a truly romantic feel.
From the bride, Chrissie: I always dreamt of having a garden wedding! I would dream of floral and trees surrounding my entire day. I also wanted to implement light colors, lace, and create a lot of decor items myself. I am so pleased to say my dream has come true! When we got engaged, my fiancé and I lived 5-10 minutes away from the Oregon Gardens resort. We both drove past it every single day. The week after we got engaged we talked about possible venue options. We both agreed that a Garden wedding was what we both wanted. I booked our venue at the Oregon Gardens for August 22, which was the ONLY day available for that year! We got so lucky!!!
I was able to make several DIY projects for my wedding! It made it such a personal thing for me. I designed my “Advice” box for the welcome table, created the reception center piece with round woods, doilies, vase buds, sewed together lace around every 2 mason jars per table, and many more small details for the reception tables. My Maid of Honor painted bible verses on stained wood planks for our isle decor. These wood planks were tied on white lace to hang on Shepard hooks for our ceremony aisle. Michael and his grandfather also built our ceremony cross. Michael and I stained it just a couple days before the wedding 🙂
Any advice for couples planning their weddings now? Enjoy every moment up until your wedding. Don’t stress too much beforehand, especially over small details you have no control over. Enjoy the entire day! Eat and drink plenty of water. Take in EVERYTHING!
From the Photographer, Jamie Rae Photography: Chrissie and Michael had a very special summer wedding. Warm winds blew smoke filled air from eastern forest fires, giving an extra glow to the Oregon Garden Resort and creating a unique and fun ambiance to photograph. Like Chrissie and Michael themselves, their day was filled with with an authentic and vibrant joy… joy for each other, of course, but also for their guests, family, and faith. Chrissie and Michael both took their wedding vows very seriously, and as a photographer who sees multiple weddings per year this commitment not only to each other but to the act and commitment of marriage left me extra inspired as I walk out my own marriage.
