I could easily build an entire feature around Catherine and Julian’s reception tables — they’re just that incredible — but the beauty in this wedding from Louisa Bailey doesn’t stop there. It continues with Catherine’s incredible gown and accessories from Johanna Johnson, Julian’s participation in the reception music, and the lush floral arrangements from Cecilia Fox. I promise you’re going to fall in love!

small bridal parties

From the bride, Catherine: We wanted our wedding to be fun and relaxed with a mix of glamour and elegance. There was no theme as such but when making decisions in regard to the type of wedding we wanted, we focused on things important to us such a wonderful food and great music. We both love to dance so it was critical everyone was up on the dance floor early in the evening!

When it came to the actual décor and colour theme, we had had a fabulous florist in Cecilia Fox who used white creams and green winter blooms with accents of rich burgundy and violet. Julian’s Dad made the square wooden boxes used for our centerpieces which were filled and overflowing with winter blooms and foliage and berries.

Wedding Music:
Julian’s Dad played a selection of bluegrass songs on Mandolin during the welcoming and ceremony. As for the first dance, one of my friends choreographed a routine that we attempted to perform to Icehouse’s Electric Blue. Julian plays saxophone, so halfway through the dance jumped up on stage and played the sax solo!
